OverviewThe hand-held Linea Pro 7 Plus is a reliable 1D/2D barcode scanner designed to fit the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 8 Plus. With a hot-swappable battery and integrated hand-strap for increased mobility, you can integrate with your existing systems using Bluetooth® Plus the intuitive Software Development Kit (SDK).

Linea Pro 7 Plus FeaturesThe Linea Pro 7 Plus allows mobile employees to convert their iPhones into a powerful solution for the retail, warehousing, supply chain, ticketing, and hospitality industries. The Linea Pro 7 Plus includes an optional 1D or 2D barcode scanner, Bluetooth® and RFID.

NoteUse of the barcode scanner or contactless card reader requires the installation of special software. Contact your Infinite Peripherals account representative for compatible third-party software solutions.

Bluetooth 2.0 SPP compatibility for a Bluetooth peripheral such as a printer.

Syncing Enables your iOS device to be synced with iTunes.

Battery status

View the battery status in the application on the iOS device.

Before Using Linea Pro 7 Plus• Remove the device and any included accessories from the

shipping carton and verify contents against your packing list.

• Retain all packing materials, invoice, and bill of lading. These may be required to return the device for servicing later, or to process a claim with the shipping carrier.

• Carefully inspect the contents inside of the packaging for any signs of damage.

• If there are signs of damage, do not attempt to use the unit. Notify your account executive or contact Infinite Peripherals technical support, https://ipcmobile.com/support.

• Ensure the battery is fully charged.

• If the battery is fully discharged, the charging time is approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes.

Developing Applications Software Developers Kit

Software is not automatically provided with your Linea Pro 7 Plus. Integrating the Linea Pro 7 Plus into your iOS application requires the use of the Infinite Peripherals Universal SDK. The SDK incorporates an API specifically for developing applications to use Linea Pro 7 Plus functionality.

For additional details on using the Infinite Peripheral Universal SDK, please refer to the appropriate SDK documentation. You can contact your Infinite Peripherals account representative for Third-Party software solutions.

Assemble Your Linea Pro 7 PlusBefore attaching your iOS device with the Linea Pro 7 Plus, you will need a 3/8 flat-head screwdriver to remove the bottom two latches and the top cover.

Note: Torque required is 4.6-6 pound-inch.

Remove Top Cover

1. To remove the top cover, unscrew the four T8 Torx screws.

2. Using the flat-head screwdriver, pop out the top cover from the first two latches to remove it. Note: The top cover is easily removed because the latches are loosened when the first four screws were removed.

3. For the remaining latches, slide the cover forward instead of pulling the top up. The Linea Pro 7 Plus top cover is removed.

Attach iOS Device

1. Attach the iOS device to the Lightning™ connector by firmly sliding it into place.

2. Align the front cover with the two hooks, and then slide it down by pressing gently back into place.

3. Tighten all four screws on the back cover to further secure the top cover.

Charge the BatteryThe Linea Pro 7 Plus uses a Lithium Ion rechargeable battery. Before first use ensure the battery is fully charged. Charging time is approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes, if fully discharged.

The Linea Pro 7 Plus supports pass-through charging to the iOS device. The unit and iOS device may be charged together using the USB Type-C port or by the charging pads.

To charge the battery, connect the USB-Type C charger cable to the USB port.

ImportantPrevent electrical damage to the unit and/or battery, use only the approved USB Type-C charger cable.

Check Battery StatusFour LEDs indicate the battery status.

LED Color DescriptionBattery level is below 19%

Battery level is above 20%

Battery is charging via attachment to outside power from USB connector or charging pads

No color Linea Pro 7 Plus power is turned off

Replace the BatteryReplace the Linea Pro 7 Plus battery only with a new, original battery (part number, PL-15-110).

1. To replace the rechargeable battery, slide the battery pawl down, and then pull up the battery cover.

2. Pull up the old battery to remove it.

3. Insert the side of the battery with the contacting pads, and then press gently downward.

4. Press the battery pawl down, and then close the battery cover.

Power On Linea Pro 7 PlusAfter the iOS device is attached to the Linea Pro 7 Plus and the application software is installed, you can turn on the unit.

1. With the unit turned off, press one of the Scan buttons on the side of the unit. When the unit is active, the LED on the top side illuminates blue, based on the battery level.

2. Unlock the iOS device screen.

Note When the Linea Pro 7 Plus is left idling for an extended period, the power is automatically turned off to preserve the charge on the internal battery pack. If turned off, the unit is in sleep mode immediately.

Scan BarcodesThe scan engine in the Linea Pro 7 Plus 1D model supports one-dimensional (1D) barcode symbols. The 2D model scan engine supports one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) barcode symbols. The effective reading distance of the barcode reader varies based on the barcode size. For example, 15-20 cm (5.9-7.9 inches).These types of scanning modes are supported:

• Single scan

• Multi-scan

• Motion detect

• Multi-scan without duplicates

To scan a barcode

1. Press and hold the Scan button on either side of the unit to activate the Linea Pro 7 Plus.

2. Position the scan head as close to the center of the barcode label by aiming the illumination box over the outer edges of the barcode.

3. Pull the unit back slowly back or forth, increasing the distance between the barcode and scan head, until the barcode is read by the scanner. Data is displayed on the iOS device.

Read Contactless Cards (Optional)The contactless card reader incorporates several RFID formats depending on your Linea Pro 7 Plus model.

To use the contactless card reader

1. Press the Scan button to activate the unit.

2. Place the RFID tag/card over the receiver/transmitter as indicated by the RFID label.

Note Data is sent from the Linea Pro 7 Plus contactless card reader to the iOS device.

TroubleshootingBarcode Scanning and Contactless Card Reading

If the Linea Pro 7 Plus is not scanning barcodes properly or not reading RFID cards tags, refer to these possible causes and resolutions.

Note If problems persist and not resolved by the resolutions indicated, contact technical support.

Update Software1. To update the software with a newer version from the

application, tap Update Firmware.

2. Tap Update.

3. To update the barcode engine with a newer version, tap Update Barcode Engine Firmware. The current firmware version and the new firmware version are displayed.

4. Tap Update.

To request a RMA
