Workspaces: A way to categorize all your

widgets based on your personal criteria. Click

on the little gear icon to edit the workspace

name or delete it.

Create new workspace: A button to create

new workspaces

Add widget: Click here to add a new widget

based on exiting saved searches

Widgets: Simply put, widgets are a means to

analyzing saved searches

Widget settings: Click on the little ‘gear’ icon

to edit, download, or delete the widget

Timeline: Click here to choose from standard

date ranges or define a custom time line

7 Explore: Click on a bar or trend line to see the

information behind that saved search. Doing

so will open a new tab with the news feed for

this information

Click on the ‘+’ icon to create a new workspace. A lightbox will appear.

Give you workspace a name by typing into the field below ‘Workspace Name’

Click on the ‘Create’ button once you are done

This is the new workspace that you have created

The workspace is empty at this moment

Click on the ‘+ Create Widget’ to add your first widget

A menu drops down when you click on

‘Create Widget’

These are your saved searches. You can select

one or a combination of more to create the widget

This where you type in to name your widget

This is the widget library. See the subsequent

slides to understand what each widget does

This option allows you to select the number

of items you want to see in a widget

Hit the create button when you are done

To create a newsfeed widget, select any one

of the saved searches. We’ve selected ‘ AU –

Leadership Changes’

We’re going to call this widget ‘Leadership Change

Updates’

Select ‘News Feed’ from the widget library

We’d like to see ‘7’ updates in the news feed

widget.

The Total Count widget gives you the total

volume of information for a particular saved

search. To create this widget, you can even

select multiple saved searches

In this case, we’ve chosen 5 saved searches

We’re going to call this widget ‘Reports /

Surveys Australia’

The Trend widget, as the name suggests,

gives you trends on you saved searches over

a period of time. You can select multiple

saved searches to create this widget

In this case, we’ve chosen 5 saved searches

We’re going to call this widget ‘E&R Topic

Trends’

Hit the create button when you’re done.

The Region Coverage widget visualizes your

saved searches on a map. This is useful for

quickly accessing location related information

and deciding whether to dig deeper

For this widget we’ve selected ‘AU – Job Postings’

We’re going to call this widget ‘Job Postings’

The Filter Category widget is used to analyze

saved search(es) against a particular variable

like competitors, industries, location, type of

stories, sources, etc.

When you select Filter Categories as a widget type,

you notice a new field which allows you to select a

filter category. For this widget we’ve selected

‘Competitors’

We’ve selected a combination of saved

searches to create this widget

We’ve named this widget as ‘My Widget.

The ‘Drill Down’ functionality is only

applicable to ‘Filter Category’ widgets. Using

this functionality, you can explore the data

behind the saved search in that widget. ‘Drill

Down’ can be activated by clicking on a bar

that you want to get into. On clicking, you see

two options: Drill Down and News Feed.

Clicking on drill down results in the second

widget that you see above

Here we have applied ‘Drill Down’ to the widget

that was created in the last tutorial. We’ve clicked

in the bar which represent Big 4.

On doing so, you’re existing widget will

change to show how many Reports / Survey

have been published by individual Big 4

companies

Click ‘Go back’ to revert your widget to its

original state
