Working with the Dashboard

The Dashboard includes vital information about your vehicles. You can view the dashboard for all vehicles or a selected vehicle.

A sample dashboard showing information for all vehicles is illustrated below.

At the top right of the Dashboard, there is a link to Add a Vehicle. This link is not active if you do not have the maximum number of active vehicles stored in your account.

The Dashboard shows the following information:

The month-to-date and year-to-date Fuel cost

The month-to-date and year-to-date Service cost

The month-to-date and year-to-date Parts cost

The month-to-date and year-to-date Payment cost

For each cost amount, an icon to the left shows the percent change. Amounts that have gone down are shown in orange, while amounts that have gone up are shown in green.

Below the cost information, the top 25 vehicle, service, and status reminders are listed for the current date.

The calendar shows any reminders scheduled for a selected date. You can view the calendar by month, week, or day. A sample is illustrated below.

To change the calendar view, select month, week or day from the top of the calendar section.

Working with Active Vehicles

To view the Vehicles in your account, complete the following steps:

1. From the Dashboard screen, select the All Vehicles tab.

A sample is illustrated below.

Scroll down to view the archived vehicles.

Filtering the Vehicle List To filter the list of vehicles, complete the following steps:

1. Open the All Vehicles tab on the Dashboard screen.

2. Enter terms for filtering the list.

3. Select Filter.

In the following example, “2008” was used as the filter term.

To clear the filter, select Reset.

Adding a Vehicle

You can add a vehicle by VIN number, by Year/Make/Module, or by entering the information manually.

To add a vehicle, select +Add Vehicle from the Dashboard screen.

Adding a Vehicle By VIN Number The VIN number is the default method of adding a vehicle to your account.

A sample Add Vehicle screen is illustrated below.

To add a vehicle by VIN number, complete the following steps:

1. From the Dashboard screen, select +Add Vehicle.

2. Enter the full VIN number for the vehicle.

3. Select Lookup VIN.

4. If the vehicle is in the database, the Year, Make, Model, and Style will be automatically entered.

5. Select the Unit of Measurement you want to use for this vehicle from the drop down list. You can choose from Miles,

Kilometers, or Hours.

6. Enter the Odometer reading from the date of purchase for this vehicle to help generate timely reminders.

7. Enter the current Odometer reading for this vehicle.

8. Enter the distance you estimate the vehicle will be driven annually.

9. Enter the Nickname for this vehicle. Note that if you want to use the feature to add Fuel records via Twitter, you cannot

use spaces or special characters in the nickname.

10. Select Add Vehicle.

Ownersite opens to the Manufacturer’s Recommended Maintenance Schedule screen for the newly added vehicle.

By Year/Make/Model You can add a vehicle by Year/Make/Model if you don’t have the VIN handy.

A sample Add Vehicle screen is illustrated below.

To add a vehicle by Year/Make/Model, complete the following steps:

1. From the Dashboard screen, select +Add Vehicle.

2. Select the By Year/Make/Model tab.

3. Select the Year from the drop down list. Ownersite maintains a database of vehicles from 1990 to the present. If the

vehicle is older than 1990, you can enter the information manually.

4. Select the Make from the drop down list.

5. Select the Model from the drop down list.

6. Select the Style from the drop down list.

7. Select the Unit of Measurement you want to use for this vehicle from the drop down list. You can choose from Miles,

Kilometers, or Hours.

8. Enter the Odometer reading from the date of purchase for this vehicle to help generate timely reminders.

9. Enter the current Odometer reading for this vehicle.

10. Enter the distance you estimate the vehicle will be driven annually.

Enter Manually If Ownersite cannot find your vehicle by VIN or Year/Make/Model, you can enter the vehicle information manually. Note that if a vehicle is added manually, you may not have access to recalls or manufacturer service intervals.

A sample Add Vehicle Manually screen is illustrated below.

To enter a vehicle manually, complete the following steps:

1. From the Dashboard screen, select +Add Vehicle.

2. Select the Enter Manually tab.

3. Enter the Year.

4. Enter the Make.

5. Enter the Model.

6. Select Lookup to search the database for specific Style information for that Model.

7. If the Model is found in the database, select the Style from the drop down list. If the model is not found, you will receive a

message. You can still add the vehicle.

8. Select the Unit of Measurement you want to use for this vehicle from the drop down list. You can choose from Miles,

Kilometers, or Hours.

9. Enter the Odometer reading from the date of purchase for this vehicle to help generate timely reminders.

10. Enter the current Odometer reading for this vehicle.

11. Enter the distance you estimate the vehicle will be driven annually.

12. Enter the Nickname for this vehicle. Note that if you want to use the feature to add Fuel records via Twitter, you cannot

use spaces or special characters in the nickname.

13. Select Add Vehicle.

Ownersite opens to the Maintenance Schedule screen for the newly added vehicle, where you can add a Generic Preventive Maintenance Schedule.

Selecting a Vehicle

You’ll need to select a vehicle before you can work with its records. Your list of vehicles is available from the top menu under Vehicles.

To select a vehicle, complete the following steps:

1. Select Vehicles from the top menu.

2. Select the Vehicle from the list. A sample is illustrated below.

Once you have selected a vehicle, additional options are available on the left navigation menu. For the selected vehicle, you can work with the following:

Dashboard

Maintenance

Fuel

Payments

Reminders & Alerts

Vehicle Details

Reports

Vehicle Settings

The Dashboard shows the following information specific to the selected vehicle:

The month-to-date and year-to-date Fuel cost

The month-to-date and year-to-date Service cost

Updating the Vehicle Odometer You can update the vehicle odometer right from the Dashboard screen. A sample is illustrated below.

To update the vehicle odometer, complete the following steps:

1. Select the vehicle.

2. Select Update from the Dashboard screen under the vehicle name.

3. In the popup window, enter the Current Odometer and the Annual Odometer. A sample is illustrated below.

4. Select OK.

Changing the Vehicle Thumbnail You can change the image shown for the selected vehicle on the General Information screen.

To change the vehicle thumbnail, complete the following steps:

1. Select the vehicle.

2. Open the General Information screen by selecting Vehicle Details from the left navigation menu and selecting General

Information.

3. Select Change under the Thumbnail.

4. A popup window, illustrated below, allows you to select the image you want to use. Select Choose File and navigate to

the image you want to use.

5. To remove a thumbnail, check the “Check this box”

6. Select Save Thumbnail.
