Huawei and the customer share responsibility for the security of systems runningon HUAWEI CLOUD.

Huawei manages, controls and operates the physical security of the facilities inwhich the services run up to the components of the host operating system. Thereis a valid security approval for the HUAWEI CLOUD, and all security measuresfrom the strong Huawei group directives are fulfilled.

The customer is responsible for the security (including updates and securitypatches) of guest operating systems, the configuration of HUAWEI CLOUD VPCand HUAWEI CLOUD security groups as well as the firewall setup.

The network resources within a HUAWEI CLOUD VPC are totally separate, and theresources are used exclusively within this VPC.

● Access control

You can set up multi-dimensional access protection using security groups andfirewalls, and thus suitably restrict access to sensitive data. This functionalityis especially in demand within the enterprise environment.

● Software-defined network

The network configuration and the configuration of Dynamic HostConfiguration Protocol (DHCP) enable you to connect a VPN to othernetworks, as well as to the Internet, of course. These configurations becomeeffective automatically and are immediately active.

2.8 ECS FlavorsA special configuration of CPU, memory, storage, I/O and network capabilities isappropriate for each use case. Consult the corresponding SAP Note 2582296 forinformation about the certified ECS types. A list of the certified ECS types isincluded in this documentation. 2.12 SAP Support and MonitoringFor full support of SAP NetWeaver solutions running on HUAWEI CLOUD, theguidelines in SAP Note mentioned in Using SAP Notes must be met.

By default, the Data Provider for SAP has been installed on an ECS which iscreated using the public image for SAP. For details about how to manually installor uninstall the Data Provider for SAP, see Data Provider for SAP User Guide.

To enable SAP monitoring (SAPOSCOL) to obtain configuration and resourceutilization information from the underlying HUAWEI CLOUD infrastructure, DataProvider for SAP collects monitoring data from various sources to meet SAPrequirements. The Data Provider is already included in the OS image. The onlything you need to do is to define the access permissions in an agency. Every SAPNetWeaver ECS needs to run it during the whole lifecycle.

1. The process status could be checked by:ps -ef | grep dataprovider | grep python3If information similar to the following is displayed, the dataprovider anddataprovider_update processes are running properly:

When the process statuses are not displayed as expected, the processes couldbe restarted manually by running the following commands:systemctl restart hwdataproviderp3

You can migrate a system copy to the HUAWEI CLOUD. There are two possiblemethods for performing a system copy to the HUAWEI CLOUD. The first is the

database-independent method using the SAP tool SWPM (Software ProvisioningManager). This method is also suitable for homogenous and heterogeneoussystem copies.

Step 1 Use SWPM to export all the SAP objects on your source system to a database-independent format.

Step 2 Set up the target system on HUAWEI CLOUD as described in the installation guidefor SAP.

Step 3 Transfer the export files to the ECS on HUAWEI CLOUD.

Step 4 Use SWPM to import the export files to the target system.

Step 5 Perform the post migration steps.

----End

Another method is to perform a database-specific system copy. This is usually thefaster way to copy the system. The rough steps are:

Step 1 Create a database backup on the source system.

Step 2 Use SWPM to install the database software on the target system.

Step 3 Transfer the source backup to HUAWEI CLOUD.

Step 4 Restore the database on the target system.

Step 5 Perform the post migration steps.

----End

For shorter downtime, it is also possible to set up the database via replication andthen execute a takeover to switch the system to HUAWEI CLOUD. This method issuitable for homogenous system copies.

Backup File LocationOn HUAWEI CLOUD, you could use SFS to store your system backup files. SFSprovides high-performance file storage that is scalable on demand. It can beshared with multiple ECSs.

For how to create and mount SFS, see Scalable File Service User Guide.

SAP NetWeaver BackupLog in as user root.

Manually create a compressed TAR archive that contains all installed files.

Save to file system:

tar -cvf <ARCHIVENAME>.tgz <file_system>

SAP NetWeaver RestorationIf required, you can restore the data that you previously backed up.

Log in as user root.

Go to the location in your file system where you want to restore the backupimage.

Restore the data with the following command.

tar -xzf <ARCHIVENAME>.tgz

5.3 SAP Change and Transport Management SystemHybrid architecture

For the hybrid deployment of SAP system, create a local transport directory foreach server and configure the automatic synchronization for file transportbetween systems. For additional information about this configuration, see thefollowing SAP documentation:
