What is Conga Composer?

Conga Composer allows users to create sophisticated documents and reports from data stored in Salesforce.

Conga also allows users to distribute documents in a variety of ways, including email and print mail.

Conga allows automation, for batch document creation and scheduling.

Conga notes that it aids in creation of proposals, quotes, reports and compliance documents. While these, like many things in the Salesforce universe, are tailored for private sector companies, there are countless ways for Conga to be of use to a nonprofit, including Thank You letters, contribution statements, and reports from multiple objects.

Quick Info on Word Templates

A Word Template is a Microsoft Word file that contains one or more merge fields.

A Merge Field is a placeholder you insert into the main document, with the intention that the merge action will replace it with a data value.

View Data is a link on the Conga dialog boxes that converts your data set to an Excel sheet for use in making templates. It helps you locate Salesforce field names for mapping.
