VMware® has partnered with Liquidware Labs™ to make full User Management a cost eective option for thoseVMware customers who prefer to have more options and scalability than VMware View® Persona Management.

The Liquidware Labs™ ProfileUnity™ user management solution enables: • Co-existence and zero downtime migrations and with other Windows desktop infrastructure, including RDSH and physical desktops managed with VMware® Horizon Mirage™ • ProfileUnity supports any Windows® operating system version desktop experience (i.e. XP, 7, 8.x, Server 2003/08/12) • Automatic conguration and portability of application settings and custom inclusions beyond the normal prole store • Seamless handling of large le sizes, le quantities and proles for ease in scaling • Unique VMware Horizon View™ session congurations with location and context aware settings to uniquely apply printers, shortcuts and more • VMware® ThinApp® package distribution & updates by user, group or unique context aware setting per session • Application Rights Management • Additional ProfileUnity™ FlexApp™ application user and department layering capabilities for groups of users that are complementary to ThinApp • Large implementation of User Environment Management including scalable persona availability — ProfileUnity is one of the most popular add-on products to Horizon and has been installed in implementations with more than 40,000 users

Joint customers benet with seamless scaling and advanced user management features to meet common enterprisecustomer needs. ProfileUnity features several attributes that have been proven to speed the implementation ofHorizon at enterprise customer sites. These attributes include: • No additional infrastructure (dedicated servers) needed other than minimal storage per user that is usually already allocated for projects • Template driven implementation in POC and Pilots can take less than an hour — fully conguring ProfileUnity user management for thousands of users can take only days versus weeks • ProfileUnity keeps the cost of Horizon projects in-check, only adding $39 or less per user versus other third-party solutions, which can add $100 or more

ProfileUnity requires no dedicated servers to provide full user environment management. The solution ingeniously leverages highly available data shares and existing Windows management infrastructure, including: • The existing Windows domain controller’s Netlogon le path to host a small agent, ProfileUnity conguration and other needed les to run at logon • An included ADM /ADMX template to apply ProfileUnity to a selected AD group at next logon • CIFS le shares for each user are leveraged to store a streamlined and managed prole, user authored data and follow-me user-installed applications (if applied)

What you’ll need: • Administrator access to save les to the Netlogon folder of the domain controller — another replicated “users read-only” UNC path may be used • Ensure that you have Domain Admin rights or you can temporarily get access to have them • Ensure that users have allocated network drive space — existing CIFS paths are ne — suggested size for compressed prole store is 150 MB (15-50 MB average is typical) • Ensure that you have access to a Windows desktop or Windows server where the ProfileUnity Management console can be installed — this can be the administrator’s desktop or any server • Ensure that you have ample network storage available per user for folder redirection of “My Documents” and any other les you wish to redirect (storage required will vary) • If you plan to use ProfileUnity FlexApp User Installed Applications — a minimum of 1 GB additional space per user is suggested (this can be in the users’ existing le share) • If you plan to use ProleUnity FlexApp Department Installed Applications: o Central storage with a minimum of 20 GB is suggested — this is where department installed applications will be installed and stored on VHD provisioned by ProfileUnity FlexApp o A non-persistent Windows packaging desktop for use by administrators should be allocated
