The average CIED clinic captures only 25% of transmissions. Barriers to optimal outcomes include a lack of clinic infrastructure which can lead to poor patient adherence, technical problems, and missed transmissions. In this study, RM automation of RM with PaceMate TM significantly improved CIED RM transmission rate, likely by streamlining workflow, improving compliance, and ensuring appropriate transmission capture References The transmission rates of all billing codes increased after implementation of PaceMate TM automation. Overall 6-month transmission rate after automation (5540) exceeded the institution’s previously reported annual transmission rate (5294) and increased 109% from the pre implementation study period. Notably, transmissions for the heart failure codes (code 93297) changed from 0 to 711 transmissions. In a large academic medical center CEID device clinic, the 6-month RM transmission rates of standard clinic staff-based RM management was compared to software-managed RM in a pre-post design around the implementation of automated RM workflow managed by PaceMate TM (PML) software. Successful transmission volume was measured by billing frequency of each of the 6 CMS established RM codes. Transmission volume comparisons were calculated for each RM code and overall. Use of Automated Software to Increase Patient Compliance and Transmission Capture in the Remote Monitoring of Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs)

ConclusionsMethods ResultsIntroduction• Remote monitoring (RM) of CIEDs has

• RM can be labor intensive and requires 24-hour surveillance to be most effective. The average CIED clinic captures only 25% of transmissions.

• Barriers to optimal outcomes include a lack of clinic infrastructure which can lead to poor patient adherence, technical problems, and missed transmissions.

• In this study, RM automation of RM with PaceMateTMsignificantly improved CIED RM transmission rate, likely by streamlining workflow, improving compliance, and ensuring appropriate transmission capture

• The transmission rates of all billing codes increased after implementation of PaceMateTM automation.

• Overall 6-month transmission rate after automation (5540) exceeded the institution’spreviously reported annual transmission rate (5294) and increased 109% from the pre implementation study period.

• Notably, transmissions for the heart failure codes (code 93297) changed from 0 to 711 transmissions.

In a large academic medical center CEID device clinic, the 6-month RM transmission rates of standard clinic staff-based RM management was compared to software-managed RM in a pre-post design around the implementation of automated RM workflow managed by PaceMateTM(PML) software. Successful transmission volume was measured by billing frequency of each of the 6 CMS established RM codes. Transmission volume comparisons were calculated for each RM code and overall.
