Made sure that if the government was corrupt, the people would have a chance to protest, since that was what happened in the American Revolution

Let the press say what they want to, have freedom of expression

Very important for people to have a non-secular government since the Americans had trouble with religion in Europe

Lets people protest/assemble peacefully against what they want

Information can be more easily given to the public Confidentiality is allowed when journalists are

asked for sources People are allowed to give their opinions and make

statements about anything as long as it is peaceful All religions will be tolerated by the government,
