2005 Summit

• U.S. CLIVAR reorganized, first meeting of the new Panels

• Developed scientific goals and areas of implementation and activity

• Working Groups were identified as a key tool for implementation and engaging the wider community. Several ideas suggested.

• Agreed to aggressively finalize goals and publicize them to the wider community

– Panels concentrating on “what next” in terms of activities and coordination, leveraging existing research investments wherever possible; adding value to the research enterprise

– Spin up at least three additional Working Groups

• Articulate the motivation and integration across US CLIVAR; identify some marketing strategies to sell the program to budget resource managers
