My Summer here
Stumbled upon this internship through a NESC conversation with a LSC Alumni
Started a week after school ended, finished in August
Worked with SQA testing
Unpaid Internship
SQA Testing
5 testers plus me in the SQA Super Cubical! Varying backgrounds and degrees
Worked closely with the Systems Engineers and Designers who create/build the productTesting out WSI Media Products
Specifically TruVu Max versions 2.0+Each day new versions come out, and the new fixes/products need to be tested
Are they fixed? What new broke? What can be Improved?
Quaker Smash
Daily routine come in, load in new version, break things,
10am team meeting, bust things, eat lunch, break more things, go home
Basic order of how things are made/tested/fixedEngineers code in new feature that goes into new version that I download and test
Test it = break it, bend it, try it with other features,
If I break it goes back to engineers to be fixed-sometimes led to fairly…heated debates
If I can’t break it move on to the next feature
What I learned
Anything that involves Computers…..
8hr work day, with job responsibilities and deadlines
Working in a field of Wx related to but not specifically what I already know/do
In the end, its not all about what you learn out of a book or class, but how you apply it and use it in the real world
WEATHER SCENES!
Don’t be Bashful, be Bold
You never know when things will turn up
If anything, take a chance to learn something new
