It is the 7th planet from the sun It is the 3rd largest planet in our solar

Discovery
It was discovered by WilliamHerschel in 1781 He originally wanted to name it“George’s Star” King George lll awarded him with an annual stipend of 200 pounds
Moons
It has 5 main moons that are large The other moons are much smaller The 5 largest moons are Miranda,
Titania, Oberon, Umbriel, and Ariel.
The Titania and Oberon were discovered in 1787
The Ariel and Umbriel were discovered by William Lassell in 1851
John Herschel also discovered some of the moons
