Pictured are: Kwan, Garnet and Lek Greipl of the Tasty Thai in Uptowne Olds.Uptowne Olds' popular restaurant Tasty Thai received a huge honour thiis past month when they received an 8/10 score on their restaurant by CBC's food critic John Gilchrist for the Eye Opener! This was the first time Gilchrist has visited the Town of Olds to review a restaurant in his 35-year history of the show!“I keep buzzing by, on Highway 2, one hour into the drive...” (and never take the time to pull off the highway). But Gilchrist was glad he did! Gilchrist opened his review talking about Uptowne Olds, our “branding”efforts as a business district and said he was pleasently surprised by how much was going on in Olds, in general, because of Olds College; and the high volume of customer traffic at the Tasty Thai on a Tuesday evening!“It's a busy place, with good reason – it's really good!”Gilchrist noted the location of Tasty Thai in Uptowne Olds – “It's cute, it quaint, it's got some things going on!”As for Gilchrist's meal? It was delicious, of course.“The freshness, the crispness, really impressed us.” said Gilchrist, paying numerous compliments to the kitchen and frontend staff for friendliness, hospitality and efficiency.“Tasty Thai makes a great stop if you are buzzing down the Highway 2 and feeling a bit peckish. If you liv in the Olds area, this is a great addition to the local scene.”
