Our Mission Uplift Multi Media Technologies, Inc. provides specific training and services to the unemployed, nonprofits, entrepreneurs and impoverished business-es while expanding social enterprises in the community. One of our goals is to become the leading training facility in web/graphic design and media pro-duction in the state, utilizing the latest technology to shift unemployment by creating jobs through entrepreneurship. In the Training Facility itself, the or-ganization provides hope through job creation, promotes struggling small businesses and provides economic growth in impoverished communities. In the studio, Uplift Multi Media Technologies, Inc. promotes and produces digi-tal media,” Scott Woeckener, founder of Uplift Multi Media Technologies, Inc.

About Uplift MultimediaUplift Multi Media Technologies, Inc. located in West Allis, Wisconsin, is a non-profit organization founded by Scott Woeckener, in 2009; 501(C)3 was granted in 2010. Scott saw a specific need to train the unemployed, physically challenged and re-cent graduates in an expanding technical field of social multimedia enterprise. This would include training, developing specific skill sets and marketing, creating instructional products and services while building individual confidence in its stu-dents. The organization will provide hands on real world experience and applied applications to interact using social media skills while assisting in the development of individual student’s lists of clients so that they may become new entrepreneurs.

Uplift Multi Media Technologies, Inc. is a multi-faceted company, with the poten-tial to branch into new venues as the organization grows. Currently four modules have been developed in the organization beginning with our Website module. Developing this main corner stone module has led to include the progression of three other modules; Media production, Post Production Editing and Corporate/ Special Events. We are able to generate enough revenue to assist in the growth of our training facility. However, we will need additional funding to hire additional trainers and expand enrolment by 75% in order to maintain our business plan.

Uplift Multi Media Technologies, Inc. is committed to high quality instructional design and educational new media development, and provides a core deliver-able of programs, innovative courses, and learning objects for the social digi-tal media education, distributed learning, and e-learning proprietary markets.

Currently Uplift Multimedia Technologies, Inc. is in the process of completing the application for a training facility/school for the Board of Education. Once the or-ganization is approved, we will have six months from the approval date to be a ful-ly functioning training school facility. The staff including trainers and upper man-agement will be certified as Masters in MOS as well as Adobe. The organization is currently in the process of obtaining the Board of Directors’ Liability Insurance also.

Entrepreneurship Education

upliftmultimedia.org

Real Entrepreneurship is not only about learning how to run a business, but how to be a better employee and better citizen. Entrepreneurship is a key driver of our economy. Wealth and a high majority of jobs are created by small busi-nesses started by entrepreneurially minded individuals, many of whom go on to create big businesses. People exposed to entrepreneurship frequently ex-press that they have more opportunity to exercise creative freedoms, high-er self esteem, and an overall greater sense of control over their own lives.

As a result, many experienced business people political leaders, economists, and educators believe that fostering a robust entrepreneurial culture will maximize individual and collective economic and social success on a local, national, and global scale. It is with this in mind that the National Standards for Entrepreneur-ship Education were developed: to prepare youth and adults to succeed in an entrepreneurial economy.

Using this framework, students will have:

• Progressively more challenging educational activities.

• Experiences that will enable them to develop the insight needed to discover and create entrepreneurial opportunities.

• The expertise to successfully start and manage their own businesses to take advantage of these opportunities.

As is the case with reading, writ-ing and even learning a foreign language, the earlier in life we’re exposed to crucial skills, the eas-ier they are to pick up. Entrepre-neurial expertise is no different. That’s why Gregg Christensen and others from the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) are seeking to include more en-trepreneurial options in the cur-ricula used by schools across the state.

Uplift Multimedia Curriculum

Uplift Multimedia is the first Multimedia training program of its kind in Milwaukee. Focusing on helping students become multimedia entrepreneurs

Uplift Multimedia uses Adobe software and the curriculum provided by Adobe Youth Voices in addition to the curriculum provided by Lynda.com and Apple software. Uplift Multimedia has a state of the art render farm and a robust organizational cloud network. Moreover, Uplift Mul-timedia has partnered with Time Warner Cable and the City of West Allis to operate their own local cable channel. Students the world over will be able to showcase their projects on Uplift Multimedia’s very own television station.

All students start off each program module at Level 1 (beginners) where they will learn the basic skill sets needed for the particular module of study. All Level 1 students work on projects that have a personal meaning to them. The students determine the content and form of their person-al narratives while incorporating the following elements to their story: finding the link to their story with a broader perspective and showing how their message is relevant to their audience.

After 90 days, students then move to Level 2 (intermediate) classes, where their skills are strengthened through the creation of collaborative short documentaries. At this level, stu-dents from all modules will broaden their perspectives to stories that have a deeper com-munity impact. As part of their development, they collaborate with experts and community members from the Milwaukee 7 region to explore stories with political and social significance.

During the intermediate modules, students are expected to produce work with a higher pro-duction quality, use more sophisticated production techniques, be more self-sufficient in their roles as producers, and to push their critical thinking about their own and others’ media to the next level. Level 2 modules are designed to prepare students with the basic skill set needed to work on commercial projects under the supervision of Uplift Multimedia in Level 3.

Students then move on to Level 3 (advanced) where they will learn how to market and promote their skills to Milwaukee 7 region companies and organizations.

Working with the Uplift Multimedia Instructors, students will learn how to determine the scope of a project and how best to meet the multimedia needs of an actual customer. Additionally, Level 3 students will work on the skill sets required to make them excellent candidates when applying for a job or marketing their skills as an independent contractor.
