Updating Internet Explorer Setting to Access Internet Connection Outside of DPS Network

To access the internet when you are outside of the DPS network, you must update a setting in Internet Explorer. The steps are detailed below on how to update this setting.

Step 1: Click on Tools from the Top Menu and select Internet Options

Step 2: Click on the Connections Tab

Step 3: Click on the LAN Settings Button

Step 4: Un-Check the box that says to Use a proxy server for your LAN

Step 5: Your screen should now look like this. Click OK .

Step 6: Click OK and you should now be able to access the internet.

Step 7: Remember that when you are back at work and are connected to the DPS network, you will go through these steps and make sure the Check box is CHECKED, otherwise you will not be able to get access to the internet.
