Key Progress Achieved in SA 1:• A joint gFSC letter outlining the principles of operations

drafted and ready to be shared with members of the WG;

• An advocacy letter to SCN, SUN, UNICEF, WFP and WHO was prepared, discussed with the SAG and GNC partners and circulated;

• Monthly GNC partners call instituted

• GNC partners meeting - Jan ’13 and GNC Annual Meeting – July ‘13;

Key Progress Achieved in SA 1 cont--:

• A strategic advisory group (SAG) was established with regular calls;

• Fundraising efforts resulted in ECHO funding;

• NCC calls organised on a regular basis. Agreed to include RRTs;

• Governance review of the GNC initiated. Findings and recommendations to be discussed at the GNC annual meeting.

Key Follow-up Actions in SA 1:• Development of a costed GNC strategy aligned with

TA, including 4 pillars and fundraising strategy to be developed in Q3-4;

• The scope of GNC key advocacy messages to be discussed and developed in Q3 (ACF-UK);

• Follow up on the partners’ advocacy letter and the date for the proposed partners’ meeting;

Key Progress Achieved in SA 2:• Nutrition Cluster Handbook finalized, printed and

disseminated (1,000 copies + 2,000 CD-ROM);

• Modules 22 (gender) and 23 (older people) of the HTP training package developed, finalised and disseminated via web. The outline of the modules will be presented at the meeting;

Key Follow-up Actions in SA 2:• Translation of the Nutrition Cluster Handbook and

HTP Modules into other languages (AR, ES, FR);

• Following the feedback from four countries, the MAM decision tool is to be revised in Q3;

• Based on SAG discussions, procedures for revision of cluster tools to be defined and formalised in Q3-4;

• Maintain and update a matrix of cluster’s technical, coordination and management tools

– Information Management Officers (IMO)• Afghanistan - Alfred Kana – NRC, Aug 12 – Feb. 13 (6 months)• Chad - Ghermai Berhe – CANDEM, Oct 12 – Jan 13 (3 months)• Philippines - Nick Buzza, RedR Australia, Jan 13 – April 13 (3 months)• Yemen – Andrew Musyoki, UNICEF, Nov 2012 – Jan 2013 (3 months

• Developed four PCAs and partnership agreements with Save UK, ACF world Vision and IMC

• Two RRT NCC are on board. The recruitment of one NCC and two IMOs is in the pipeline and will be finalized by end-July. – Procedures for deployment, reporting and communication of RRTs agreed o by

RRT partner agencies;

Key Progress Achieved in SA 3:• GNC - CT supported the recruitment and training of

NCC and IMO staff; (South Sudan)

• Global orientation workshop for cluster partners took place but with low attendance; Inter-cluster CC Training in Sweden attended by 7 NCCs

• ToR for regional training of NCCs developed and advertised (Bangkok and Dakar)

• ToR for country Nutrition cluster partners’ training developed and advertised. Selection is on-going (proposed: Afghanistan, Yemen and Mali)

Key Follow-up Actions in SA 3 cont:• GNC to follow up on the recruitment of the remaining RRTs in Q3;

• Develop the IMO training package and recruitment of IMOs trainer in Q3;

• Finalize NCC and cluster partners training scheduled in Q3;

• Continue to work with UNICEF EMOPS on the development of the capacity building strategy;

• Continue to work with UN OCHA for cluster performance monitoring and programme monitoring, follow up on MIRA;

• Joint GHC and GNC mission to Afghanistan in planned in Q3

Key Progress Achieved in SA 4:• Basic package of nutrition cluster tools (4W matrix +

reporting formats) developed and shared with NCCs;

• AWG plus GNC-CT developed information needs and analysis framework with list of indicators for needs assessment, capacity mapping and performance monitoring; this was reviewed by partners on 8th July 2013

• GNC web-site is functional and regularly updated. Web-site review has been conducted and results will be presented at the GNC meeting.

• Cluster-related information is shared with GNC partners on a regular basis through an updated mailing list (Core partners list< WG list, NCC list and SAG list)

Key Follow-up Actions in SA 4:

• A GNC IM strategy and tools to be discussed with NCCs, finalized and rolled-out in Q3-4;

• The need to establish an IM Task Force to be discussed;

• Strategic discussion on provision of operational/technical support: (on assessments, surveys, IYCF-E, etc) at country level to be initiated and key institutions for implementing to be identified;

• A survey on rationalisation of information sharing;

Key Follow-up Actions in SA 4 Cont:• IM needs and analysis framework to be shared and

• Based on the results of the website review – continue necessary improvements and possible re-allocation of the site to a common platform;

• A strategy for sharing experiences and lessons learned to be discussed and developed.
