Introduction

This guide describes the installation of RAE R700.1 for use with Experion PKS R500.1. The document covers the system requirements, installation checklists, and the installation procedures to complete the RAE installation.

The RAE R700.1 configuration procedures are covered in the Real-Time Application (RAE) R700.1 for Experion R500.1 Configuration and Maintenance Guide p/n 6510020594.

This document has references to these optional software applications, but does not describe their installation procedures:

• Experion MX MD controls

• Experion MX CD controls

This document is intended for usage on setting up the QCS node with fresh installation scenarios by using RAE R700.1 associated installation medias. For setting up QCS Server using other alternate scenarios like loading an image and rename the server using PCRename utility, you need to refer the Experion MX Computer Cloning User Guide p/n 6510020595.

Audience This manual is intended for anyone installing the RAE R700.1 software.

About This Manual This manual contains 11 chapters;

Chapter 1: System Requirements provides the hardware and software requirements required to install RAE R700.

Chapter 2: System Configuration provides the system configuration supported for RAE R700.

Chapter 3: Installation Checklist provides a checklist, which lists the order in which the installation tasks needs to be performed to complete the installation for each of the QCS systems.

Chapter 4: Installing SQL Server 2014 SP2 Client Software provides instructions to install SQL 2008 Client software.

Boldface Boldface characters in this special type indicate button names, button menus, fields on a display, parameters, or commands that must be entered exactly as they appear.

Lowercase In an error message, words in lowercase are filenames or words that can vary. In a command line, words in lowercase indicate variable input.

Type Type means to type the text on a keypad or keyboard. Press Press means to press a key or a button. [ENTER] or [RETURN]

[ENTER] is the key you press to enter characters or commands into the system, or to accept a default option. In a command line, square brackets are included; for example: SXDEF 1 [ENTER]

[CTRL] [CTRL] is the key you press simultaneously with another key. This key is called different names on different systems; for example, [CONTROL], or [CTL].

[KEY-1]-KEY-2 Connected keys indicate that you must press the keys simultaneously; for example, [CTRL]-C.

Click Click means to position the mouse pointer on an item, then quickly depress and release the mouse button. This action highlights or “selects,” the item clicked.

Double-click Double-click means to position the mouse pointer on an item, and then click the item twice in rapid succession. This action selects the item “double-clicked.”

1. System Requirements

This chapter provides the hardware and software requirements for installing RAE R700.

1.1. Hardware Requirements The hardware validated for the RAE R700.1 installation are:

• 24 GB RAM in Dell R330 and T330

• 24 GB RAM with RDIMM slot for R320 and T320

• 16 GB RAM for T5810XL Workstation

• 16 GB RAM for T3600XL Workstation

Hardware Requirements – QCS Web Displays Client

Any hardware with the following minimum specifications.

• Memory: 4GB or higher

• Video Memory: 1 GB or higher

• CPU: 2 cores or higher

• Frequency: 2.4 GHz or higher

The installation instructions start with installation of the Operating System using the Experion PKS Initialization Media.

NOTE:

Only software applications and device drivers qualified by Honeywell for use on QCS computers should be installed. The installation of unqualified software applications or device drivers may result in product performance and reliability issues. Refer to chapter 9.1 for a list of software and drivers qualified as of the release of this manual. Refer to the QCS Compatibility Matrix in www.honeywellprocess.com for the most recent list of qualified applications and device drivers.

2. System Configuration

RAE R700.1 for Experion PKS R500.1 system supports the following system senarios:

• QCS-Only

• Integrated QCS / Experion PKS

• Integrated QCS / Experion PMD

2.1. QCS Security Guidelines

The following are the security guidelines to be followed to ensure that the Experion MX /MX Proline is secure and reduce the possibilities of cyber attacks.

• Antivirus – Ensure that the latest antivirus package recommended by Honeywell is running on all the nodes.

• Locking USB ports – Ensure that USB ports are blocked physically or disabled when not in use.

• Changing passwords regularly – Ensure that passwords including Admin password are changed periodically to reduce any threat due to password being compromised.

• Not using default passwords – Ensure that no default passwords (if any) are used. They need to be changed after the system is setup.

• Using Honeywell recommended Whitelisting packages like Bit 9 or McAfee enhances the security of the processes running in the node. It allows only authorized processes to run on the node.

• Ensure that the access to the QCS nodes areas is restricted so that only authorized personnel can have access to these nodes.

• Ensure not to connect physical drives which do not have the latest antivirus update and security patches suggested by Honeywell, to any system.

• Ensure that SSL certificate is applied on the QCS Server node when using QCS Web displays for Zipline scanner template and for HMI Displays built using Experion MX HMIWeb Controls. Not using SSL certificates increases the vulnerability of the system to security attacks over the network.

• Ensure that logged on user in the QCS server during normal operations is QCSUser (product administrator) and not QCSAdmin (system administrator). Logging in as System Administrator during normal operations will greatly increase the vulnerability of the system to security attacks.

3. Installation Checklist

This chapter provides the installation checklists for RAE R700.1 software. It is important that you follow the sequence mentioned in the checklists when installing the software.

NOTE: It is assumed that you are installing RAE on a computer with a hard disk that can be reformatted.

Before starting installation ensure to have latest Product Manuals pdf Collection CD (P/N 6537100023) for latest released documents, If you do not have, then download the Product Manuals pdf Collection CD (P/N 6537100023) from \\Hps-bc35-vs05to\kview\PDF\65\3710\37100023\37100023.iso and burn this to a DVD.

NOTE: During installation user may encounter User Account Control dialog box, Acknowledge the user account control dialog box if it appears.

3.1. QCS-Only System The QCS-Only System is a standalone QCS System, with no DCS (Experion/Third party) integrated with it.

This section provides the checklists to install RAE on a QCS-Only system. The checklists in this section cover:

4.2. Installing Redirection Manager Redirection Manager (RDM) must be installed on the QCS Server, when a redundant Experion PKS Server pair is integrated.

RDM enables QCS Server’s OPC client to transparently redirect requests to an alternate OPC Server. Redirection occurs whenever the RDM detects a failure in the active server. The QCS Server’s OPC client connects to the RDM instead of connecting to the primary OPC Server. The RDM supports connection to HCI/OPC server pairs hosted on Experion PKS and TPS platforms.

NOTE: Honeywell recommends that you install the System Management Display. Without System Management Display, you might have difficulties determining the status of the Experion PKS server pair. If you choose to install the System Management Display, it enables you can access the RDM Auxiliary Status Display.

Perform the following steps to install the Redirection Manager:

1. Logon into Windows as the QCSAdmin user.

2. Insert the Experion PKS Installation DVD p/n 51155890-500 into the CD/DVD drive.

The AutoPlay window appears.

3. Double-click setup.exe.

If the setup window is not launched automatically, perform the following:

• Browse to the root folder of the CD/DVD drive.

• Double-click the setup.exe.

If the User Account Control dialog box appears.

4. Click Continue.

The Setup type of Node to install dialog box appears.

7. Verify the Customer Information and select Do not Install Software for Do you want to Install Licensed features?, select No for Are there Licensed TPS Components to install?

NOTE:

Password for the accounts must adhere to the following rules.

• Must not contain the user’s account name or parts of the user’s full name that exceed two consecutive characters.

• Must be minimum of 6 characters and maximum 32 characters in length.

• Must begin with an alphabet and the must be in uppercase.

• Must contain characters from three of the following four categories.

– English uppercase characters (A through Z).

– English lowercase characters (a through z).

– Base 10 digits (0 through 9).

– Non-alphabetical characters (- @ # $ % ^ & + = ' ~ ! * ( ) _ + = { }\\ | : ; " < >, . ? /). Space is also a non-alphabetical character.

• Passwords of local accounts must be configured to be the same on all nodes in the Experion nodes.

• Ensure that you do not use the \ (back slash) for passwords in your Experion account.

15. Click Next.

The Summary dialog box appears. Review and read through the summary of selection made and click Install.

16. Remove the installation media from the CD-DVD drive.

5. Install Remote Desktop Services

It is mandatory to install the Windows Remote Desktop Services on the AllianceView products. However, it is optional to install the Windows Remote Desktop Services on the QCS Server for the following systems:

• QCS- Only system

• Integrated QCS/Experion PKS system

To know the procedure to install the Remote Desktop Services and activation of license, refer to section 2 in Experion MX Remote Desktop Services Installation and Configuration Guide p/n 6510020597.

This chapter provides instructions to install and activate LabVIEW 2015 SP1.

6.1. Installing LabVIEW 2015 SP1 To install the LabVIEW 2015 SP1, perform the following:

Log on to the computer as QCSAdmin user.

1. Insert the S/W MEDIA FOR LABVIEW 2015, p/n 6543210129 into the CD/DVD drive.

2. Perform the following if the auto run fails:

• Browse to the root folder of the DVD drive.

• Double-click autorun.exe.

17. Find the Serial Number from the license agreement document and enter it in Serial Number field. Leave the Application Builder, Report Generation Toolkit and Database Toolkit Serial Number blank.

NOTE:

LabVIEW installs the Application Builder, Report Generation Toolkit and Database Toolkit when you install LabVIEW but it remains deactivated. If you plan to use the Application Builder, Report Generation Toolkit and Database Toolkit then you need to use the LabVIEW Professional Development System License. If you use the LabVIEW Base Package or Full Development System license then you must purchase and activate the Application Builder, Report Generation Toolkit and Database Toolkit separately.

18. Click Next.

The Destination Directory dialog box appears.

19. The default location where the LabVIEW 2015 SP1 is installed is displayed.

22. Select I accept the above 2 License Agreement(s).

23. Click Next.

NOTE: If LabVIEW is being installed in Desktop Server or Operator Station, Disable Window fast Startup dialog box appears.

For the default installation, Check Disable Windows fast startup to prevent problems with installing or removing hardware box and Click Next.

The Start Installation dialog box appears.

24. Review the summary before starting the installation. If you want to make any changes, click Back, to go to the respective page, to make changes. If you do not want to make any changes, click Next.

25. The LabVIEW 2015 SP1 installation begins. The LabVIEW 2015 SP1 – Status Display dialog box displays the overall progress.

NOTE: If WARNING: Windows Firewall Might Be Enabled dialog box appears, then click Next.

After the installation is complete, the Installation Summary dialog box appears.

2. Insert the LabVIEW 2015 reference driver media, p/n 6543210129 into the CD/DVD-ROM drive.

1. Logon to the computer with local administrative privileges.

2. Insert the LabVIEW 2015 reference drive media p/n 6543210129 into the CD/DVD-ROM drive.

3. Open the Windows Explorer.

4. Browse to the E:\Products\NI-VISA_RT folder.

After the installation is completes, the NI-VISA 15.5.0 for LabVIEW Real-Time Setup installation successful dialog box appears.

6.4. Activating LabVIEW 2015 SP1 Perform the following steps to activate the LabVIEW 2015 SP1.

1. Choose Start > National Instruments> NI License Manager.

2. Click Activate Products to enable the LabVIEW activation.

The Welcome to the National Instruments Activation Wizard dialog box appears.

If already enter the serial number, the following dialog box appears.

If you have not entered the serial nuber during LabVIEW installation, it will ask you to enter the serial number for the products you want to activate. Enter the serial number and click Next.

The Activation code is displayed. Record the activation code or print the Activation Verification e-mail that is sent to the specified email address.

9. Start LabVIEW again on the target node and then click Activate.

10. Select Apply a 20-character activation code previously acquired for this computer and then click Next.

The LabVIEW 2015 SP1 is activated. Make a note of the activation code information and save in the system where you are activating the LabVIEW, so that it can be used for reactivating the LabVIEW on the same computer, if needed.

The chapter provides the procedure to install the RAE R700.1 software.

7.1. Installing RAE on a QCS Server This section provides the steps to install the RAE R700.1 software on a QCS Server.

The following medias are required to install RAE R700.1 software on a QCS Server.

• Media RAE R700.1 Experion PKS R500.1 Interface Components, p/n 6543210126

• Media RAE R700.1 Base Components, p/n 6543210127

The RAE R700.1 Experion PKS R500.1 Interface Components DVD provides the software components that are required to interface with the Experion PKS R500.1 software and needs to be installed before installing the RAE R700.1 Base Components.

7.1.1. Installing RAE R700.1 Experion PKS R500.1 Interface Components

Perform the following steps to install the RAE R700.1 Experion PKS R500.1 Interface Components.

19. After the computer restarts, login to Windows as the QCSAdmin user.

The RAE R700.1 Experion PKS R500.1 Interface setup automatically completes the installation.

7.1.2. Installing RAE R700.1 Base Media Perform the following steps to install the RAE R700.1 Base Media.

1. Insert the RAE R700.1 Base Components DVD, p/n 6543210127, into the computer’s CD/DVD drive.

21. After the RAE Base Components installation is complete, remove the RAE Base Components DVD.

24. Type the password of QCSAdmin and click OK.

17. Do not remove the RAE R700.1 Experion PKS R500.1 Interface Components DVD from the drive.

18. Click Finish.

19. After the computer restarts, logon to Windows as QCSAdmin user.

20. The Experion PKS R500.1 Interface setup automatically completes the installation.

21. After the setup is complete, remove the RAE R700.1 Experion PKS R500.1 Interface Components DVD and proceed to the next section.

1. Insert the RAE R700.1 Base Components DVD, p/n 6543210127 into the computer’s CD/DVD drive.

The AutoPlay window appears.

2. Double-click Run RAESetup.exe.

3. If the setup window is not launched automatically, perform the following:

• Browse to the root folder of the CD/DVD drive.

• Double-click the RAESetup.exe.

7. Select the required navigation bar style for this computer.

NOTE: You must select one of the two navigation bar styles before proceeding with the installation.

8. Select one or both check boxes for the station types (Is a Metals Application, Is a MultiMonitor System) where the navigational bar style must be applied.

Example: If you select the Vertical (Best for Wide screen monitors) option and the Is a Metals Application check box, then the vertical navigational style is applied on the user interface of the Metals application.

9. Click Next.

7.4. Obtaining a RAE License Key You need a license key to activate the RAE software. The license key can either be a permanent license key or a temporary license key.

NOTE: To generate the RAE License Key, you will need a computer with intranet/internet access.

7.4.1. To obtain a temporary RAE license 1. In the License dialog box, enter “result” in the license key box.

2. Click Install Key.

The temporary license key has been installed message appears.

3. Click OK.

4. In the license window, click OK and then click Exit.

A temporary license can be used until five days.

NOTE: Do not adjust the computers clock while using a temporary RAE License Key. Adjusting the clock to an earlier time and date can disable the temporary RAE License Key.

7.4.2. To obtain a permanent RAE license 1. Open a Web browser on a computer with Honeywell Intranet

5. To obtain the Server code, browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Honeywell\Experion MX\RAE\bin.

6. Run the Licadmin.exe file to get the server code.

7. Record the Server code.

8. Type the Server code, in the Server code box.

9. Type the System number.

NOTE:

If this package is installed on a customer system, enter the customer name, address, and system number on the registration form.

If there are multiple NIC cards in the license window, select the server code for a network interface card that remains in the computer at all times. Removing the network card disables the RAE license.

10. Type the Company ID and click Retrieve.

11. Click Insert.

The RAE License Key is generated.

12. Record the license key that is generated.

13. Type the RAE License Key in the License Key box.

14. Click Install Key and then click OK.

15. Click Exit.

NOTE: On Experion MX Nodes,

Mass compilation of LabVIEW Vis takes 30 to 45 minutes.

You must mass compile the LabVIEW on all the RAE nodes including QCS Server, Operator Station and Alliance view Server. Perform the following steps to carry out Mass Compilation:

1. Click Start > Experion MX Engineering Tools > MassCompile.

Normally, during Mass compilation of LabVIEW files error log messages are generated for Not found VIs, Bad Vis, and CompileFolder. These error messages can be identified as follows:

• Not found VIs identified are FP Open.vi, FP Create Tag.vi, FP Read (Polymorphic).vi, FP Read (Boolean).vi, FP Close.vi and FP Read.vi.

• Bad VIs identified are pulse tachs inputs.vi and FieldPoint io status monitor.vi.

• Insane object identified is in SP Z2 Axis Calc.vi

If other VIs are identified in the log, this may indicate another problem.

8.3. Internet Explorer While you navigate through displays, display navigation may fail with an Internet Explorer exception error. To overcome this problem, you must add the following three websites to the trusted sites.

Perform the following steps to add the websites to the trusted sites.

1. Launch Internet Explorer.

8.4. Modifying the Configuration Settings of the Monitor Display

You can experience the LabVIEW drawmngr.cpp error (LabVIEW crash) that is caused by certain configuration settings done on the monitor display. The configuration settings that can potentially cause this issue on the monitor display include:

• Non-recommended color quality settings

• Hardware acceleration turned ON

• Insufficient GDI Objects Quota

The LabVIEW error can also be caused due to the installation of non-compatible display adapters (not provided by monitor manufacturer) installed by third party applications that are not recommended by the Honeywell.

In order to avoid the LabVIEW drawmngr.cpp error (LabVIEW crash) caused due non recommended monitor display configuration, you need to perform the following steps, in the order mentioned:

1. Modifying the configuration settings of the Monitor Display.

2. Uninstalling the additional display drivers installed by Third party applications.

1. Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.

8.4.2. Uninstalling the Additional Display Drivers Installed by Third Party Applications

LabVIEW drawmngr.cpp error(LabVIEW crash) can be caused due to non-compatible display adapters (not provided by monitor manufacturer) installed by third party applications. An example of the non-compatible display adapter installed is Radmin.

To avoid LabVIEW drawmngr.cpp error(LabVIEW crash) caused due to non-compatible display adapters installed by third party applications, perform the following steps.

NOTE Perform the steps described in this section only if you have installed the additional display drivers apart from the default monitor driver.

Refer to the Experion PKS System Initialization Media Software Change Notice release document for the list of recommended drivers.

Windows Server 2016 users

1. Open the Device Manager by, Go to Start and then Right-click Computer, and then click Manage.

2. If the User Account Control dialog box appears, click Continue.

3. The Server Manager window appears.

4. Click Diagnostics in the left pane.

10.1. Stopping the Experion Performance Monitoring

In RAE R700.1 with Experion PKS R500.1, after the Experion installation is complete, the Experion Performance Monitor setup is automatically enabled, and starts monitoring the process in the system. This automatic monitoring of process generates unnecessary log files and affects the performance of the system.

For improving the System performance, the Experion Performance must be stopped.

To stop the Experion Performance Monitor in Windows Server 2016 environment:

1. Right-click Start and select Computer Management.

The Computer Management window appears.

2. From the Server Manager, select and expand Performance > Data Collector Sets > User Defined > Experion_Performance_Logs.

15. Click Exit in the Elo TouchSystems TouchTools dilog box and remove the Production DVD.

16. In future during the usage of Touch screen, if you find calibration is again needed. You can carry out the same by following below procedure:

17. Click Elo icon in the tool tray which is available at the lower right side of the desktop

18. Click Align

19. A calibration window appears indicating the start of calibration. You need to complete the calibration process to use the touch screen monitor. Also note during the calibration process, the wizard prompts you to touch three circles which gets displayed one after the other on three different locations of the screen. This enables necessary calibration adjustment with the Touch Screen

20. Follow the on screen instructions to complete the calibration of the touch screen monitor.

21. Touch the Green Tick mark to complete the calibration.

NOTES: If Elo icon is not available in the tool tray on Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit operator system, go to Control Panel, look for “View by: Category” text toward the upper right; click it and select "Small icons" , double-click Elo Touchscreen icon and click the Align button on the General tab.

10.5. Wide Screen Monitor with QCS Node The QCS Nodes support both Wide Screen and Standard monitors. The following screen resolutions are supported for wide screen monitors:

1680 X 1050

1920 X 1200

NOTES: All the Monitors in Multi-Monitor setup need to use same screen resolution.

1. Right-click anywhere on the Winodws Desktop, select Screen resolution from Context menu

2. Then a Screen Resolution Window appears.

3. If this is a Multi Monitor setup, select the required monitor from the Display combo box. In this is a Single Monitor setup, the Display combox box will be disabled.

4. Then select one of the screen resolutions listed below:

5. 1680 X 1050 1920 X 1200

6. Then click Apply.

7. For Multi Monitor setups, repeat 3 to 5 for each Monitor

8. Then close the Screen Resolution window.
