Recruitment Lead for BD’s Technology Leadership Development Program (TLDP), a type of industry postdoc. As a graduate student at UNC, she developed a proto-type for an artificial liver and was one of the first to earn an HHMI-sponsored Certificate in Translational Medicine. After graduation, she became a TLDP fellow in the Cell and Tissue Technology division of BD. Dr. Turner will talk about her transi-tion from graduate school to industry and how UNC grad students can apply for the TLDP. She will be available for a brief networking reception with interested students from 12:45-1:00 in the lobby outside Bioinformatics 1131. This event is part of the Translational Medicine Lunch and Learn series sponsored by the Certifi-cate Program in Translational Medicine. Lunch will provided to all who register. Denise Saunders: Where’d the time go? - Strategies for balancing research productivity and lifeDo you ever find yourself wondering what happened to the hours in the day, whether you got much accomplished or

how to fit in time for fun? In a culture of busyness this is chal-lenging, and graduate school is no exception. This workshop will ex-

plore principles of time management to help assist you in prioritizing what needs to be done so that you can feel a greater sense of accomplishment, reduce stress associated with a busy schedule and find time for the things that matter the most in your life. Participants will have an op-portunity to prioritize current “to do’s” and create action plans to more effec-tively manage them. To register: http://tinyurl.com/8lkwn4t
