Class Descriptions Beginner’s Guide to “the Cloud” – What is the Cloud? How can I use it? Q&A Saturday – Bring us your tech questions – Bring us your tech questions and we will try and answer them in this open-ended session. FiberTV 101 – TVs, Set-top Boxes, Remote controls, DVR, Smartphone Apps. With the addition of various technologies, watching TV is becoming more personalized, working around your schedule. This class will teach you the ins and outs of FiberTV, how to use the remote and control your DVR. Managing your home network – If you have Internet at home, chances are you have a wireless router that connects you to the Internet. This class will share best practices for configuring your home router, examine security concerns and walk through some of the additional capabilities of your home router, such as a “Guest” network and sharing resources. Manage your pictures using the Internet – You digital camera photos are some of the most important files you will ever create. Depending on which device you used to create them, you may or may not know how to retrieve the pictures and save them for future access. Resources, such as Google Photos, Picasa, and Flickr, are available to store, manage, and share your photos online easily. This class will go over some photo management best practices as well as how to use the Internet to store and share your photos. Internet 101 – The Internet is an important part of our everyday lives. New technologies emerge all the time changing how we put the Internet to work for us. However, if you are new to the online experience, it may all seem quite overwhelming. This class will give a brief overview of the Internet and will discuss how you can put it to work for you. The Internet of Things – Until recently, the Internet was something that you “surfed” and used to exchange emails. Over the past couple of years, the Internet has evolved to include other activities including the ability for devices and sensors to communicate with one another as well as with us. This class will explore the Internet of Things and the ways it will impact you. iPads 101 – Structured around the I have A Tablet, Now What class but for iPad users. This class will show you the basics of using your iPad, including setting up your email, downloading apps, and managing privacy settings. Attendees will also learn different techniques to maneuver and navigate around your iPad Introduction to Windows 8 – Windows 8 is the latest version of Microsoft's operating system for PCs and tablets. You may be confused by this completely redesigned version of Windows, but this class will help guide you through the many changes Microsoft has made.
