Bibliovation puts nextgen into Pioneer’s ILS FISMA-certified to safeguard PTFS

systems and our information assets, and hosted in a FedRAMP-

compliant hosting facility

Code Fusion Bibliovation exists right now – PTFS/Liblime government

development work for past two years is now benefiting us PTFS Liblime has turned to merging the codes for two

development streams – public and academic Pioneer, SCLS, CLiC, WALDO and others are sponsoring

development for the code fusion Working right now: John Rose, PTFS/Liblime (formerly with

Innovative), Patrick Jones, Executive Director of PTFS/LibLime, PTFS coders and developers, and the sponsors

Next slide shows first-gen CONCEPTS, not actual look/feel/functionality – get a feel for what is possible without getting into the technical weeds yet, that time will come!

In meantime, Gerianne (geriannep@gilibrary.com) and Allie (wickersh@wncc.net) need wishlist items from you. Be specific. For example: when adding a new patron, either show only our library’s pcat’s or have dropdown by library, then by our pcat’s.

2016 Pioneer Federal Grant through NLC Current Member Empowerment Major ILS Improvement & Future Statewide Member Expansion professional-level training and “local-library-level” technical

support brought to Nebraska for current Pioneer members professional-level public information sessions and materials for

all Nebraska libraries about new Bibliovation functionality and benefits of joining Pioneer

our development costs for the Bibliovation upgrade Expend by end of September 2016 Meet our expected outcomes (next slide)

Outcome: Improve PTFS Liblime Koha functionality and code fusion to new Bibliovation system for the benefit of 24 current Nebraska libraries and at least 18 other libraries targeted to commit to this statewide system.

Outcome: Increase staff competence in ILS and technical / cataloging functions, both current and new through Bibliovation, for 24 current Nebraska libraries.

Outcome: Educate and follow-up with at least 100 Nebraska libraries about the benefits of Pioneer’s statewide resource sharing ILS system through information sessions and distribution of materials. (include NLC, systems and other supportive partners)

Outcome: Increase competence of at least four members to continue training existing and new members in ILS and technical / cataloging functions, as well as public education and follow-up to prospective members.

Outcome: At the end of this project year, educate and phase in at least nine new libraries each year.

And these purposes are (from Pioneer Consortium Joint Entity Agreement) To provide access to the union catalog of the Member

Libraries; To allow patrons to request needed materials from the

collections of Member Libraries; To enhance cooperative electronic and physical document

delivery of materials held by Member Libraries; To provide access to electronic resources other than the

union catalog to Member Libraries and their patrons; and To support cooperative collection development activities by

Member Libraries.
