I was hoping thatsomebody wouldshow up, but nobodydid. I had to now alterthe entire project.

September 20, 2012 10pm First email withSenior ProjectFacilitator

I needed to explain toher that I did not haveany participants formy project. That Inow had no one toperform, and I had tochange the projectcompletely.

Skype call with mysenior projectfacilitator.

During this time wewent overpossibilities for theproject, andalternatives. Duringthis time, weconcluded that theproduct will just have

to be the piece initself. There is no wayto make players fallout of thin air. Newproject: Composing asaxophone quartetpiece withoutperformers.

Nothing Nothing This time was jampacked withmarching band. Afterschool, duringschool, andweekends wereabsorbed withMarching band, so noreal productiveamount of time wasspent composingduring this time.

First run through This was the firstcrucial edit to thepiece. I used theprogram “Noteflight”so that she couldview the project as itprogressed. Shechecked for errorsand told me if I couldcontinue or not.

Composition This was a roughtime. I started andrestartedcompositions at least14 times.

everything I waswriting was out oforder. So, at thistime, I realized that Icannot go such along time withoutcontacting her inorder to conservetime and preventgiant hiccups.

Nothing This time was spentwith my church andmissions team. I lead2 praise bands, 2youth groups, a GEDclass, a youngwoman’s bible study,and I am with mymission’s team. ThisHoliday time is a timeof giving back to thecommunity. I spent ahuge amount of time

in the communityserving and feedingthe homeless in HollySprings, caroling atthe nursing home,involved in dramas atmy church to portraythe Christmas story,and serving in allservices at thechurchinstrumentally, andvocally.
