MSM HOCKEY. – 10TH OCTOBER Both the 1st and 2nd XI Hockey teams lined up againstopposition from Ashville College last Saturday morning. The 2nd XI started fast and strong with Harry Cutts scoringfor MSM in the first few minutes from close range. The firsthalf continued at a fast pace with chances at both ends butwith MSM holding a lead until half time. The second half saw more chances for both teams withAshville drawing level and then taking the lead in the final 10minutes. MSM saw a late effort hit the post leaving the finalscore MSM 1 - Ashville 2. A well fought match which couldhave gone either way. Holly Clarkson awarded POM workinghard in the centre of a strong defence. A quick turnaround for spectators and guest referee beforethe 1st team took to the field for their match. A battling firsthalf with Ashville well on top and taking a 4-0 lead by halftime. Spurred on by some excellent support from the MSM Rugbysquads, MSM took the game on in the second half. Anumber of chances came and went before Anna Manfrediscored from a well worked short corner. A great come backfor the team, winning the second half and deserving morethan the 1-4 scoreline suggests.
