Date(s)1st Field Experience Activity/TimePSC/ISTE Standard(s)Reflection(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)

11/5-7/14Attended GaETC at the bequest of Anna Swafford the PD chair for Riverwood1.4 Diffusion of Innovations & ChangeCandidates research, recommend, and implement strategies for initiating and sustaining technology innovations and for managing the change process in schools. (PSC 1.4/ISTE 1d)

5.2Professional LearningCandidates develop and implement technology-based professional learning that aligns to state and national professional learning standards, integrates technology to support face-to-face and online components, models principles of adult learning, and promotes best practices in teaching, learning, and assessment. (PSC 5.2/ISTE 4b)1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and leadership from completing this field experience? I was asked to attend GaETC to learn different strategies and tools regarding technology integration. While at the conference I learned about the various ways in which different schools are servicing their varied demographics using technology.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3knowledge, skills, and dispositions.) A technology coach needs to be able service schools that may have diverse students of various cultural, cognitive, ability, grade, age, intellectual differences. This can be improved by establishing a network colleague from various locations to serve as a brain trust for improving ones skillset for working with varied groups that one person may not have access to.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed? Upon returning from the conference I was able to review the notes that I took during the various seminars. I then selected the areas of the school where the various strategies could best impact and designed redelivery sessions based upon what I learned. I would like to assess the impact of these strategies by having teachers model them for others to learn and apply in their classroom.
