have adequate time going in Collect info before you start (employer

contact info, dates worked, education info, reference contact info)

Fill in all blanks – do not write, “See Resume”

Most applications have short-answer questions or essays

Can typically attach it electronically to application

1 page is best if possible, but not requirement provided all the info is relevant and organized

Keep it simple and concise, use bullet points, only include relevant information

Keep it professional, avoid personal info such as hobbies or interests – focus should be on teaching experience or experience with kids

Try to provide unique information

Should be tailored to each district – do some research

Address it to a specific person

Letters of recommendation Typically need 3-5 for most applications Hard copy Give the person writing the letter advance
