Achievements in 2013 and 2014

• Airbus has accumulated over 18 000 flight hours for Afghanistan Operations in less than four

years.

• HARFANG is successfully operated in France and MALI and has accumulated more than

10 000 flight hours in over 900 operational missions

• French Armaments Directorate (DGA) recently signed a contract with Airbus Defence and

Space to upgrade the Harfang French Air Force fleet and keep it in active service until at

least end of 2017.

• ISIS Payload capabilities finally proven

• 2013 Announcement during Le Bourget with Alenia, Dassault and Airbus, that industry will

work on a common proposal for a European solution. Has been followed– up by delivery of

proposal for a definition phase in May 2014 to European governments

Unmanned Aerial Systems

Future Market Trends

UAV Portfolio Overview

15

• UAVs will have a civilian and military market in the future . Dominant military market

and evolution of civilian market in the near future expected.

• EU´s demand for European UAS

• "High Altitude Pseudo Satellites" (HAPS) will find it´s niche in the market

• Autonomy technologies developed through UAS will be the basis for future aircraft

transport capabilities e.g. Insertion into airspace

• Lease-Operate- Maintain concepts will further grow

• Next generation of UAS includes weaponized systems
