Austin is already home to several accelerators and funding groups targetingsocial conscious ventures. They include the Austin+SocialGood Accelerator,UnLtd USA, Southwest Angel Network for Social Impact and the AustinFoodshed Investors. In February, the Austin Business Journal chronicled howCentral Texas is mirroring a national trend of burgeoning social impactinvesting.

Total U.S.-based assets under management using social impact strategiesincreased from $3.74 trillion in 2012 to $6.57 trillion in 2014, a rise of 76percent. Such assets accounted for more than $1 out of every $6 underprofessional management in the United States, according to the Washington,D.C.,-based Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment.

Tarmac TX is the second Calso accelerator program in the U.S. The others arein cities such as Paris, Hong Kong and Amsterdam. The first Austin class willrun May 1-Jan. 31, 2017. The deadline for applying is April 8 and applicants cansign up by clicking here.
