The University of Bradford, in collaboration with the Association of Renal Technologists (ART), delivers a module in renal technology at a level equivalent to the third year of a bachelor's degree. The module is worth 20 Credit Accumulation and Transfer (CAT) points that can be put towards a qualification. The module is split into two intensive three day blocks followed up with 'e-tutorials'. The teaching and assessment are quality assured by the University, but the course content is based on the European Core Curriculum for Renal Technologists and is facilitated by external lecturers working in renal care. The short courses are usually run at the University of Bradford in October and March. The standard registration fee is £1500 for the 20 credit module. Discounts are available for Trusts or companies registering more than four students. ART sponsorship may be available to NHS employees who can demonstrate that they have been unable to secure funding. The fee covers course materials and assessments, but not meals or accommodation.
