AIMS
• To enhance the student experience
• Assist students to fulfil their potential whilst promoting independence and employability development
• Promote inclusion and equal opportunity

• Work to achieve this at key stages of student contact with the university:
pre-entry, at induction, on-course through to completion and beyond graduation
• Work to create more integrated services:
• Within the institution,
• With the student association,
• With reference to other support services eg. NHS medical services, local authority, voluntary sector.
HOW DO WE ASSIST OUR UNIVERSITIES?
• Work to improve success rates and improve retention• Ease the transition into higher education and target support
in the crucial subsequent transition periods• Target resources at more vulnerable groups (at greatest
risk of dropping out)• Contribute to success of widening participation and
increasing student diversity• Promoting personal development and employability
