Congrats to Karen Thompson on correctly identifying the picture last month. You may pick up your shirt in the front office. Since this is the March issue and St. Patrick's Day will be here soon, this month we are looking for a drinkin' leprechaun in the newsletter. Find him and send us your answer! All correct answers will be entered to win a free lunch for two. Entries must be received by March 15.

I write this with mixed emotion, as after 25 years at the University of Louisville, I am leaving to pur-sue another professional opportunity in Washing-ton D.C. My departure from the university will also conclude my role as President of the Board of Directors for the University Club. I leave know-ing that the board, a fine group of faculty, staff, retirees and alumni, take pride in ensuring that the fiduciary and direction of the Club is sound. I also take pride in the fact that our general manager, Bill Rothballer, and his excellent staff will continue to
oversee an operation that continues to sustain and excel when many other private clubs have closed.
However, not resting on our laurels, your University Club will not only sustain but will anticipate growth and enhancement for the future. One such enhance-ment in development is that the University Club is exploring a partnership with University of Louisville Athletics to providing food and beverage opera-tions at the newly established University of Louisville Golf Club. We hope to share more with you about this possible venture very soon.
It has been my pleasure serving as your board President, and I leave knowing that the University Club remains a jewel at the university and in our community.
Sincerely,
Dwight D. Dozier

A MESSAGE FROM THE MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR
What an awesome time to be a member of the University Club! The Club just celebrated its 23rd Anniversary. Many of you became members prior to the Club opening in 1990 when Jeanine Triplett was Membership and Marketing Director. Our club has seen much change through the years with a membership that includes a diverse group of men and women of all ages and backgrounds. We continue to adapt to meet the needs of our membership, while maintaining the inviting tradition that makes our Club the members’ “ home away from home”.
Let me take this opportunity to encourage all of you to share your great stories and experiences with potential members and together, let’s grow the membership. In the words of our General Manager, we can double our membership in a very short time if every member brings a member.
No one has accepted the General Manager’s challenge to beat our Chess Champion David Sloan. You will recall, the member who wins will receive a University Club lunch for two. If you lose, you will be obligated to bring 3 potential members to a Member Appreciation Night.
Be sure that you are utilizing all of your benefits of membership. Keep in mind that your University Club membership provides privileges for you at various clubs throughout the US and abroad. Call me at 502-852-3499 or email me at [email protected] for assistance. As your membership director, I am so committed to listening to your suggestions and comments. It is our goal to ensure that your expectations are exceeded and that your experiences at our Club will be memorable.
