Created 100 new companies and 3,000 new jobs in initial phase
Current activities include: Cluster development (Bioscience; IT & digital; Creative;
Business Services; Environmental) Draw-down of regional, national and EU funds for development
of innovation infrastructure (eg £25+m of ERDF funding) Re-development of mining site with UK Coal for biorenewables
