Location Photographer shooting a catalogue of 13,000 images for multiple libraries within the University of Phoenix.I was asked to create a library of images to be used in the new brand marketing materials. We shot over nine days in multiple locations and captured over 13,000 images. The assignment included student and faculty portraits, learning and collaborations settings and student home life. My role included scouting, shooting, archiving, meta-data tagging, photo-editing and the retouching of the final images.

Corporate View Book photographer, archivist and retouching specialist.I was asked to capture in a documentary style the culture and learning process for students attending the University of Phoenix. Working with the design director we came up with a specific strategy to match the newly developed brand. We shot multiple days in both San Francisco and Dallas and captured student portraits, faculty portraits and classroom settings.

The library of images were later given to the marketers leveraging the catalogue into other marketing platforms within the university.

Staff Photographer for the newly-developed internal hardcopy and online corporate magazine, “Faculty Matters”.The University of Phoenix asked me to shoot all the images for a startup magazine called “Faculty Matters”. I shot faculty portraits and feature stories for the debut issue. I was mostly shooting, retouching and archiving the assets from the field. I uploaded the final images to an ftp site so they could receive the images quickly. The designer added the assets to the magazine layouts making the deadline.

On Call Photographer for a deadline brochure.

The University of Phoenix called me to shoot an emergency cover photo for a marketing brochure after a deadline was changed. I went to the location the following day and created test shots for a conference call. We set up the shoot for the following week with the support of the brand director and art director. We shot the cover photos, I came into the office and did an onsite edit, I color-corrected the final selections, which were then placed into the brochure, and we made the new deadline for the marketing team.

Point person for a six-month onsite Digital Asset Management Project connecting the three main offices with its in-house content management system. What was the benefit of having a Digital Asset Manager?

• I provided Digital Asset Management consultation, managed uploads and maintained the in-house assets for use with the existing content management system.

• Connected Seattle, San Francisco and Phoenix to one master archive, which decreased the need for time-consuming searches by employees.

• Created standards for using meta-data tagging and keywords during the uploading process. This improved quality control by providing consistency in the organized master archive.

TestimonialBrian is eminently likable. It is fun working with and around him. He’s positive under pressure, flexible with deadlines, budget conscious, fast, an enthusiastic team player, highly collaborative, and technologically savvy. Best of all he’s an excellent photographer. The depth and breadth of his experience and capabilities made him indispensable at the Apollo Group.

His photographs for the View Book were so outstanding they defined the photography style for the brand influencing all photography including the agency of record’s national television and print ads

Brian is easy to direct yet there is a magic that happens if he is left to shoot freely. He can work with a large production crew or solo capturing what he sees.
