The University of Minnesota is seeking candidates for a graduate research assistant (RA) position in Occupational Therapy (OT) job code 9511 position 323266 This individual will be part of a research team that was recently awarded funding from PCORI. The four-year study is "Comparing the Effectiveness of Fatigue Management Programs for People with Multiple Sclerosis." The purpose of the study is to compare the effect of three modes of delivering the Managing Fatigue course—two telerehabilitation formats (teleconference or internet) and one traditional format (one-on-one, in person) used in clinical practice—on outcomes important to people with MS (i.e., fatigue and its impact on physical, mental, and social function). The study will conduct a multi-centered randomized clinical trial using a pragmatic design among 610 participants with MS. Recruitment efforts will focus on the inclusion of underserved population segments, including people with physical and mental disabilities, people who are diverse in race and ethnicity, and people who live in rural areas. Required Qualifications: Entry-level degree (Bachelor's, Master’s, or Clinical Doctorate) in occupational therapy. Certification by NBCOT or graduate of a WFOT approved program and licensed to practice in their home country (international). Clinical experience in occupational therapy. All nonnative English speaking RAs must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum total score of 79 or provide equivalent evidence of proficiency.

Restrictions: Limited to students registered in a graduate or post-baccalaureate professional degree program at the University of Minnesota. Each student is limited to a total of 50% time University employment except during vacation periods. If on an F-1 visa, the student is limited to 50% time employment except during vacation periods.

Responsibilities may include: Attend training sessions, research team meetings, and Research Stakeholder Engagement Meeting

calls as needed.

Recruit, screen, and randomly assign potential participants, and act as a general liaison for participants during their involvement in the study.

Scheduling patients, coordinating locations for the meetings, and arranging for transportation to the in-person sessions if necessary.

Mail flyers, visit support groups, and coordinate clinical in-services. Help prepare and submit documents for IRB and ordering material and supplies. Travel to off-site locations within 100 miles of the Twin Cities to deliver the one-to-one fatigue

management program to participants. Travel expenses will be reimbursed. Some participants who work may need evening or Saturday meeting times.
