• The UofL research enterprise has grown dramatically over the last decade, with a corresponding growth in administrative support. Continuing business process enhancement and development of increased service orientation in research administration is a current focus.
• Research administration should provide mechanisms to assure accountability, training and periodic review of all participants and processes in research
• As a research university, UofL must encourage and nurture strong research, discovery, scholarship and creative activity in all of its academic disciplines including the creativity of the arts and humanities, basic scholarly research and translational and applied research.
