INTRODUCTION The Student Chapter of University of Guanajuato was established on 31 August 2007 in Salamanca, Guanajuato at the University of Guanajuato Campus Irapuato Salamanca, Mexico. Currently the chapter has 26 active members who are students of engineering, masters and doctoral degrees. The chapter objective is spread knowlege in optics and photonics at the University of Guanajuato with courses, conferences and workshops for children and students. Since 2007 the SPIE Student Chapter of University of Guanajuato have been worked to fulfill its purpose and cooperate with the formation of the new leaders of tomorrow. Workshop with Children.
Visiting Lecturers.
Dr. Miguel V. Andrés from Univesity of Valencia, Spain, visited us for giving a
lecture “Optical microcavities” on March, 3rd 2015.

Dr. Yuri O. Barmenkov from CIO León, visited us for giving a lecture “Fiber optic
lasers and their applications” on March, 26th 2015.
We supported some social activities like a SPIE chapter soccer team in our
Campus.

The SPIE president 2015 Prof. Toyohiko Yatagai visited us in our campus on August 19th, 2015

We organized a Congress “Optics and photonics for applications 2015” on
September 2-4, 2015 in our campus in collaboration with the OSA chapter
from our Campus.
We had seven conferences with national and international researchers.
