SILHOUETTE SPIDER MARKS

Specifically, after April 15, 2007, when the Spider Silhouette design appears on apparel and certain other goods, it must appear immediately adjacent to the words “University of Richmond,” “Richmond Spiders,” “UR,” or “Richmond.”

The affected goods are:

• outerwear and active sportswear clothing(including jackets, t-shirts, shirts & sweatshirts)

• footgear

• headgear

• eyewear

• gloves

• bags, including book bags, backpacks, sports bagsand carry bags

• ski, snowboard or cycling equipment and accessories

While the University and its licensees may continue to sell such goods featuring the Spider Silhouette Design alone up to April 15, 2007, after that date, any noncompliant goods must be destroyed or donated to charity.

These changes will not apply to any goods other than those indicated above. The Spider Silhouette Design may continue to appear, by itself, on official University of Richmond uniforms worn by athletic teams and coaching staff during Richmond sporting events and on official Richmond uniforms worn by Richmond personnel during working hours.

Effective immediately, all artwork featuring the Spider Silhouette Design on merchandise in any of the impacted product categories must meet the new usage guidelines in order to receive licensing approval. Failure to gain artwork approval for any product, including reorders, may result in the confiscation of non-compliant merchandise.
