1. Introduction:

Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded established by Government of Maharashtra on 17th September 1994. In the short time of span, the University has been granted recognition by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi (UGC), under 2(f) in March 1995 and 12(B) in May 1998. It has been re-accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade. SRTM University, Nandedoffersfull time and regularMaster of Philosophy (M.Phil.) course through its 11Schools ofMain Campus,2 Schools of Sub-Centre, Latur and at research centers in 03affiliated colleges of the Universityjurisdiction in the subjects: Chemistry, Geography, Geology,Bio-Technology, Microbiology, Botany, Physics, Economics, Education, Physical Education, Political Science, English,Marathi, Hindi, Media Studies, Mathematics, Library & Information Science and Computer Science. TheM.Phil. Curriculum benefits the students by inculcating in them research attitude and analytical skills. The admission to M.Phil. Course is given through Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted throughonline mode. 2. Syllabus for Entrance Test:

Syllabus for Entrance Test coversResearch Methodology andtopics related to the Master’s Degree in the subject concerned.The Entrance Test will be of 100 marks, comprising two different sections. Section A: Research Methodology (this paper is common for all the candidates.) There will be fifty multiple choice questions for 50 marks. Duration of thetest is50 minutes. Section B:Relevant Subject: There will be fifty multiple choice questions on thesyllabus of relevantP.G. subject for50 marks. Duration of the test is 50 minutes. There is no negative marking system. 3. Venue and date of online Entrance Test:

Thecenters for Entrance Test will be declared well in advance on the University website.(www.srtmun.ac.in) under the head of M.Phil. 2019-20.

4. CET Processing Fee: Processing Fee for Common Entrance Test is Rs.1000/- (One Thousand Rupees only) for open category and Rs.750/- (Seven Hundred & Fifty Rupees only) for reserved category.

5. Eligibility criteria:

i.Candidates for admission to the M.Phil. program shall have a Master degree

or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the

corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its

equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC-7 Point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point

scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign

educational institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency

which is approved recognized or authorized by an authority, established to

incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that

country for the purpose of assessing and accrediting or assuring quality and

standards of educational institutions.

ii. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% or an equivalent relaxation of

grademay be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy

Layer)/Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of

the Commission from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s

degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent

grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of

5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying

marks without including the grace mark procedure.

iii.Admission will be given to only qualified students through M.Phil.Entrance test conducted by the university and throughmerit list and reservation rules& regulations.

6. Distribution of Seats:

70% seats are reserved for the students from this university and 30% seats are

reservedfor the students from other universities. There would be over and above

quota of 20% for other state university students.

7. Place of Research

All the admittedcandidates should carry out the regular full time research

work at the recognizedresearch centers such as, University Schools, Sub-Centre,

Latur andPeoples College, Nanded, Dayanand Arts College Latur, Hawagiswami

College Udgir respectively.

Only a full time regular teacher of the concerned University / sub centre of

this University/College can act as a supervisor. The external supervisors are not

allowed. However, Co-Supervisor can be allowed in inter-disciplinary areas from

other departments of the same institute or from other related institutions with the

approval of the Research Advisory Committee.

Refund of Fee: In case of cancellation of admission, 10% deduction from the total fees will be made and the balance amount will be refunded on or before the date of spot admission. There will be no refund of fees after spot admissions are over, under any circumstances. If the student, who has been permitted to pay part payment at the time of admission, cancels her/his admission, s/he will be required to pay balance amount of total fees before her/his admission is cancelled.
