Topic: Challenges of Economic European Integration for Western Balkan

The objective of this conference that will be held at Economic Faculty of Shkodra University “Luigj Gurakuqi” on 10th December 2010 will be to enlighten the vision of the Western Balkan toward the European Integration and the main challenges that this Region faces nowadays. The main aim will be to present the latest developments and future prospects of Western Balkan, European Union enlargements challenges, global financial crises and its effects in Western Balkan. The conference will aim to present the progress we have seen during the last ten years with regard to financial and economic reforms and the process of Euro-Atlantic integration. The main topics to be covered:

• Latest developments and future prospects of Western Balkan. • EU enlargement progress and prospects. • Economic Reform and Accession to the EU. • EU and the processes of globalization. • Free trade prospects and SEE Market. • Visa liberalization in WB and its impact on economic development. • The Western Balkans and Euro-Atlantic Integration. • The Western Balkan and the global economic crisis. • The impact of Global Recession – EU Accession Countries. • Tourism as challenge for Western Balkan Economic European Integration • Visa Liberalization and its impact on Migration and Labor Market in SEE. • Human resources- Be strategic Global Player. • Changes of global climate and its effects on Balkan countries economies. • Transition economies from European periphery to the European core countries. • Justice reconciliation and E.U. integration in the E.U. • Legal reforms toward European Integration • The Balkans in Europe: why, when and how. • Global partnership initiatives in the framework of E.U. project on Western Balkan. • E-commerce on support to business development in Western Balkan. • Taxes, System and Income Distribution in SEE Countries. • Financial Sector Regulation Reform. • A wider E.U. – what next?

Abstract and Paper submission: Abstracts should be presented in English language of no more than 300 words on the topics outlined and should be submitted no later than September 30, 2010. Abstracts should clearly state the purpose results and conclusions of the work to be described in the final paper. We strongly encourage the submission of abstracts electronically. All submissions will be subject to a double-blind review and published in the refereed conference proceedings. Abstracts can be sent by e-mail to: [email protected] or [email protected], fax: 00 355 22243747 or mail to Economic Faculty, Shkodra University “Luigj Gurakuqi”, Sheshi “2 prilli” Shkodër, Albania. Please include title, author (s); affiliations, research aims and key findings on all submissions. Final acceptance will be based on the full-length paper, which if is accepted for publication must be presented at the conference. One author is not allowed to present more than one paper. The official language of the conference will be English. Fee and accommodation information The participation fee is 50 euro that covers conference pack and conference proceedings book.
