The product is not exposed to external impactsfrom filling to emptying when using this extremelygentle conveying method.

Cornflakes and potato chips are examples offragile products which can be conveyed withoutbeing damaged.

As a standard, the elevator buckets are manu-factured in white, FDA food-approved poly-propylene but are also available in other colours

Sanitary DesignUniversal elevators for conveying of foodstuff areusually manufactured in stainless steel AISI 304or AISI 316.

Simatek washing unit offers facilities for steeping,washing and drying of chains and buckets.One unit can be applied for several elevators.

Simatek elevators are available in a closed,dustproof design. For foodstuffs, open elevatorsequipped with safety covering are more common.

The buckets have been especially designed andare supplied in polypropylene, mild or stainlesssteel depending on the type of product to beconveyed. Temperatures from -25oC (-13 F) to+250oC (482 F)

TechnologySimatek Unipower HPL 431 constantly monitorsthe power consumption and switches off thepower if the load exceeds the preset values.

The soft starter facility provides safety againstoverloading of vital parts.

Automatic chain tensionA hydro-pneumatic chain tension adjuster ensuresa uniform tension of the chains with a constantforce.

ServiceWhere service and inspection are required, theuniversal elevator is equipped with inspectionhatches.

The drawers under the lower horizontal sectioncan be pulled out for cleaning.

Technique

Low Power ConsumptionThe drive section is equipped with a directlycoupled helical-bevel gear and mechanicalbackstop.

Intermediate OutletElectric pneumatic intermediate outlets can bepositioned as required on horizontal sections.Computer-designed curve guides ensure lowfriction and minimum wear.

The buckets are suspended in pegs between twoparallel running chains and are kept in ahorizontal position from filling to emptying.

The high-quality chains have been equipped withnylon rollers ensuring long lifetime and quietoperation.

The lower horizontal section has beenequipped with chain guides and brushesprotecting the chains against dust.

Flanged joints reinforce the elevator structure andcan be equipped with seals if a dustproofexecution is required.

ATEXSimatek universal elevator in a dustproof designcan be placed in ATEX zones 21 and 22.

Accessories

The Simatek batch inlet has been designed foroptimum capacity and continuous product flow.The inlet fills up the buckets individually after whichthe filling degree is monitored by ultrasound.Variations in relation to the desired filling degreeare subsequently adjusted automatically.

The vibrating feeder ensures continuous filling ofbuckets and is designed to minimize waste.The vibrating feeder can be connected to anaspiration branch and the capacity is controlledvia a variable motor control.

Abrasive ProductsThe universal elevators are also suitable forconveying of very abrasive products such asfly ash, gravel, stone, crushed marble, etc.

Due to the absence of mechanical strain on theproduct, no dust or friction develops causingabrasion on the equipment.

An aspiration branch must be established at inletand outlets.
