Transitional Time~!

Since it has been decided that I am going to be appointed to Eau Claire Korean Fellowship
Church, starting on July 1st, 2019, SPRC members and I have been working together to make this
transition as smooth as possible. For this reason, we had a meeting on May 1st to discuss about a
couple of concerns we have in the face of my leaving. First of all, since the employment of our
Administrative Assistant position was terminated in September, 2018, due to the budgetary shortfall
and financial constraints, there has been no one who works with me in our Charge office. At the
meeting, we realized that it is important to have an Administrative Assistant in our Charge office as
soon as possible in order to ensure that I can have enough time to train the person before my
leaving, and Jennifer Heidtke who is a member of the SPRC and Holcombe UMC expressed her
interest in this position. Therefore, it is a great joy to announce that the SPRC and all three church
Ad Board members decided to hire her as a new Administrative Assistant, starting May 21st, 2019,
and we are so blessed to have her who is willing to work for us and to share her gifts, wisdom and
experience with us. Secondly, it has been discussed at SPRC meetings that the Charge office needs
to be located in Holcombe UMC, because the Holcombe UMC pays 65% of 2019 Charge budget
and has a larger membership. Since Jennifer lives in Holcombe and we are having a new pastor, the
SPRC and all three church Ad Board members agreed that it is a good time to move the Charge
office to Holcombe UMC at this point. Currently, the SPRC and Holcombe Ad Board members are
working very hard to make this happen before Jennifer begins her new position, so please pray for
all people who are part of this transitional process~!

Ham Dinner – May 19th from 10:30 through 1:30. We have moved our Ham Dinner to this time of year hoping that our snowbirds will be back with us and that the surrounding areas with campers will find a place at our table. Please take a few moments over the next couple of Sundays to sign up to serve in one way or another. But, also join us for the dinner as well. Our favorite and celebrated exceptional cook, Karen Langland, will be heading up the work in the kitchen once again but will be retiring from that duty with the completion of this meal. Karen has been dealing, for some time, with extremely difficult physical issues that prevent her from continuing to serve in this capacity in the future. We pray that the measures that are being taken to deal with these issues result in allowing her to live in less pain and enjoy together with Bob these senior years.
