    The Worlds Leading Airline

    On Oct. 1, 2010, United and Continental closed their previously announced all-stock merger of equals transactionto create the worlds leading airline. The new United will offer customers an enhanced travel experience, combiningthe best products and services each carrier has to offer. The airline will be focused on being the airline customerswant to fly, the airline employees want to work for and the airline shareholderswant to invest in. Highlights of the newUnited include:

    Worlds most comprehensive global route network, including world-class international gatewaysto Asia, Europe, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East with non-stop or one-stop service fromvirtually anywhere in the United States

    Most modern and fuel-efficient fleet (when adjusted for cabin size), and the best new aircraft orderbook, among U.S. network carriers

    Industry-leading frequent flyer program that will provide more opportunities toearn and redeem

    miles worldwide Optimal hub locations in 10 cities, including hubs in the four largest cities inthe United States

    United Continental Holdings, Inc., is the holding company for United Airlines and Continental Airlines. Travelerswill begin experiencing a more unified product in the spring of 2011, as the carriers begin to align key customerservices, marketing activities and airport processes. United and Continental will continue to operate separately untilthe company receives a single operating certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration that will allow it to

    operate under a common set of manuals and procedures, which is expected to takeat least a year.

    Member Lounges

    Continentals Presidents Club and Uniteds Red Carpet Club members already have access to both lounges as part of StarAlliance. This benefit remains unchanged following the closing of the legal merger. In addition, guests of both clubs will now enjoy

    the convenience of free WiFi and access to complimentary snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    Frequent Flyer Programs

    For the near future, Continentals OnePass and Uniteds Mileage Plus will remain separate frequent flyer programs. The airlinesare in the process of aligning the programs to create the worlds leading loyaltyprogram, and program developments will beannounced periodically throughout 2011 as we aim to fully combine our loyalty programs by 2012.

    Miles accrued in frequent flyer accounts and frequent flyer program status are safe, and customers will continue to earn andredeem miles normally. Elite customers will have reciprocal seating and upgradebenefits in October 2010.
