Some French contractions• When you use à + some Definite articles you
get a contraction (meaning: to/at/in the)– Definite articles = THE = le, la, les, l’
• À + le = au Je vais au cinéma.• À + les = aux Tu vas aux magasins.
• BUT (mais)• À + la = à la Éric va à la piscine.
• À + l’ = à l’ Vous allez à l’hôtel.

• Use the conjugated (changed) form of ALLER + an infinitive (not changed verb)
• Aller + infinitive– Je vais travailler. ( I am going to work.)– Tu vas chanter. (You are going to sing.)– Il va marcher. (He is going to walk.)– Nous allons manger. (We are going to eat.)– Vous allez voyager. (Y’all are going to travel.)– Elles vont danser. (They are going to dance.)
