B. Summary of the Lesson Plan : For today’s part of the unit, I am going to explain in more detail what I expect from the group project as well show a couple examples of what I did.

C. Basic Information: Grade Level: 2nd Time to Complete this Lesson: 50 minutes Groupings: small group and whole group

D. Materials: ComputerPaper and pencil

E. Objectives: o NV State Social Studies Standards

H3.2.6A Read and discuss news events in the community.o Student-Friendly Standards

I can read and talk about the news that’s going on in my neighborhood or community.

F. Vocabulary Newspaper - News -

G. Procedure: 1. I remind the students that they are to start working on their part in the classroom

newspaper. (some students are looking up pictures, some drawing, some writing, and some proofreading)

2. I will walk around if the students need help, but they are to come up with most of the ideas and how it should look in the newspaper.

3. They will have a number of papers as reference to help them. 4. Let them know that presentation of their piece of the paper is on Friday.

I will have to look at what each student is working on to make sure they are understanding what they are doing.

Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. I’ll know about looking at the work they are working on.

I. Closure: Ask a few students what they are working on and how they hope to finish in the

next couple days.
