III. READING

Activity 1 Read the text and answer the questions. Federica is 30 and lives in Arezzo, a nice town in Tuscany, with her son Luca, aged 8. She is a shop assistant in a department store in the town center. Every morning she gets up at 6.30 and does some housework. Then she wakes up Luca and makes his breakfast. She is always in a hurry and she doesn't have time for breakfast at home. At 8.00 they cycle to school and then Federica cycles to work. When it's rainy they go by bus. She usually has breakfast in the cafè next to the department store. At 9.00 she starts work and she finishes at 1.00pm. She picks up Luca at 1.10 and they go home. They have lunch together and then they have a rest. At 3.00pm Federica's mother arrives and helps Luca with his homework. She stays with him until Federica comes back from work. At 3.10 Federica leaves home and at 3.30 she starts work again. The department store closes at 8.00pm but she is never back home before 8.30. At home she cooks dinner and checks Luca's homework. After dinner she answers e-mails and watches TV. At 10.00 Luca goes to bed and she reads him a story. Then she goes to bed because she's really tired.

Where does Federica live?

What does she do?

Between 1.00-2.00pm is my lunch time. I always cook my own lunch and bring it to the company where I heat it in the microwave oven. After lunch I have a walk around the company till 2.00pm and then I start to work again. Working time is over at 6.00pm and I drive back home. When I arrive at home I cook dinner and I also prepare lunch for the following day. After dinner I take a 30 minute walk outside and when I come back I watch TV. I go to bed at 11.00.
