UNIT 9: PHOTOGRAPHY TECHNIQUES

TASK 6:PORTRAIT

Page 2: Unit 9: portrait information

A portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. I have chosen this category because this is the one that interest me the most as there is such a wide range of different portraits you can do. This means that I can do a wide range of shoot and I can improve my portrait by trial and error

and improving from my mistakes from previous shoots. Photography is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person. For this reason, in photography a portrait is generally not a snapshot, but a composed image of a person in a still position. A portrait often shows a person looking directly at

the painter or photographer, in order to most successfully engage the subject with the viewer. There are many amazing

photographers that do brilliant portrait images I am going to use some of these as inspiration for my interpretation.

INSPIRATION

Page 4: Unit 9: portrait information

This is one of my favourite images out of the images I picked and put in the

collage. This photograph was taken by Lee Jeffries I know this photographer as I have done a project on him before

and I think that he is brilliant. He focuses a lot on weathered faces and he gets great shots of a good defined face. In my exhibition I would like to use this photographer as inspiration and would like to attempt my own

interpretation of this photographer as in my project I am focusing on the

genre of portrait.

This is another image that I really like however this is more of an abstract

images I really like in because I think that it shows a lot of detail. This image really captivates me and you can make your own thought and opinions on the image . I would like to do images that

make the viewers able to make there own ideas and interpretation of my images . I

am going to give this type of photography a go as I think it will be a

very enjoyable thing to and I can do lots of other ideas along with it. I believe that the eye is shark and crisp and enjoyable

for the viewers to see.
