Swings in direction tractor turns.
Must be secured in fixed position to travel on the road or when using PTO.

ONLY attach to drawbar, 2-point, or
3-point hitch if pulling load (Never to any other part).

Proper Hitching Procedures: Back tractor slowly

neutral and engage brake before dismounting.
Connect directly behind tractor.
Use lynch pin or hitch pin for locking, along w/ cotter pin or clip.

Shields should always be kept in place when machine is running.
PTO Shield Types Master

Stub shaft guard – enclose stub shaft when not being used

What should you do if- When working on someone’s farm and the
boss tells you to use a piece of machinery, but the PTO shaft guard is missing. What should you do?
A- Perform the task without saying anything B- Wrap the shaft in duct tape, because duct
tape fixes everything! C- Talk to your adult supervisor about the
missing shield and tell them the shield needs to be put on before doing the assigned task.
