EQUATION - ECUACIÓN

To solve an equation is to find all its solutions.

A solution to an equation is the number that makes the equality true when we replace the unknown or variable with that number.

ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION PROPERTY – PROPIEDAD DE LA SUMA Y RESTA

If you add (subtract) the same number to each side of an equation, the two sides

remain equal.

Si sumas o restas el mismo número a cada lado de una ecuación, los dos lados

permanecen igual.

Solve: x + 2 = 6

We subtract 2 to each side. x + 2 – 2 = 6 – 2

Remove the equivalent terms. x = 4

The solution of this equation is 4.
