UNIT 2

Spot, the dog

Hello, boys and girls.

I’m Spot. My family is the Smiths: Mrs. Smith, Mr. Smith and their children, Henry and

Cindy.

Henry is my pet. Every morning I wake him up at seven o’clock and I wash his face.

Then he washes his face again and makes my breakfast. After that he has breakfast, too.

When Henry is at school, I often take his mother for a walk in the park. I can run very

fast, and she sometimes has to call me.

At half past twelve Mrs. Smith gives me my lunch. Zach, the cat, sometimes comes

over, but I always bark at him and then he runs away.

On Friday evenings and Saturdays Henry and I play with our friends. I teach the boys

many tricks; for example, when I bring a stick, they throw it to me and when I run after them

they ride away on their bikes.

Every Sunday we go out in the car. I sometimes see dogs in the other cars. Then I

bark at them and they bark at me, too. That’s great!

At six o’clock, after tea, we often watch TV and then we play a game. I sit in front of

the TV and they throw their slippers to me. I like slippers and I take them to their bedrooms.

At nine thirty I take Henry to bed. He’s a good boy, so he can always sleep in my bed.

An Interview with Raquel Jacob

Raquel Jacob is an actress and she plays Mafalda Guedes in the famous Portuguese soap opera “Morangos com Açúcar”. She has got a twin sister, whose name is Catarina Jacob.
