【 2011• 兰州】 28. Mary is used to ____ a T-shirt and jeans. A. wear B. put on C. wearing D. putting on答案: C【解析】词义辨析。句意“玛丽习惯于穿 T恤衫和牛仔裤”, be used to doing sth. 习惯于做某事,因此排除选项 A 、 B , wear 强调状态, put on 强调动作,由句意知“此处表示状态”,因此选 C 。

Writing

Table Manners in China

Page 34: Unit 12 You ’ re supposed to shake hands. Section B Period 2 (3a — 4)

Talking about eating habit, unlike the West,

where everyone has their own plate of food, in

China the dishes are placed on the table and

everybody shares.

Page 35: Unit 12 You ’ re supposed to shake hands. Section B Period 2 (3a — 4)

Chinese are very proud of their culture of

cooking and will do their best to show their

hospitality.

Page 36: Unit 12 You ’ re supposed to shake hands. Section B Period 2 (3a — 4)

And sometimes the host will serve some

dishes with his or her own chopsticks to

guests to show his or her hospitality. This

is a sign of politeness. The right thing to do

would be to eat the

whatever-it-is and

say how yummy it is.

Page 37: Unit 12 You ’ re supposed to shake hands. Section B Period 2 (3a — 4)

If you feel uncomfortable with this, you can

just say a polite "thank you" and leave the

food there. There some other rules about the

eating custom in China.

Page 38: Unit 12 You ’ re supposed to shake hands. Section B Period 2 (3a — 4)

Make sure the spout ( 茶壶的嘴 ) of the

teapot is not facing anyone. It is impolite to

set the spout facing towards somebody. The

spout should always be directed to where

nobody is sitting, usually just outward from

the table.

Page 39: Unit 12 You ’ re supposed to shake hands. Section B Period 2 (3a — 4)

Never try to turn a fish over yourself. People

believe that car accidents will happen or a

fishing boat will capsize ( 翻 ) if you do so.

This is especially true to southerners in China

(such as Guangdong, Guangxi and Fujian

provinces, etc.)
