Essential Question: What was Kipling’s
purpose in writing the Jungle Book stories
and how did he use the poems he
included?
Objectives:
The student will identify the main purpose of “The Jungle Book” stories.
The student will define foreshadowing and identify how it is used in “The
Jungle Book” stories.

provide a summary of the text distinct from personal opinions or judgments.
RL.6.3. Describe how a particular story’s or drama’s plot unfolds in a series of episodes as well as
