1.2 The selection of approach for the above teaching plan is much relevant to a class room learning environment. According to (Richards & Armstrong, 2010) any plan should contain an expected outcome from available resources within a certain period of time. Here time plays an important role. When planning inclusive learning and teaching sessions, teachers need to consider the time of the session and the lessons that needs to be covered with in the specified time limit. Many researchers argue that the amount of time one can listen fully is very less. Hence continuous teaching is inappropriate as students will start missing out contents in the later stages of the session. To avoid this, teacher has to select a mixed approach in which after every lesson or subject part, there should be an interactive session. Question and answer session is the best approach for class room teaching. According to (Francis & Gould, 2012) some teachers allow students to stop then and there to clarify their doubts. But some teachers allocate time for interaction. Both approaches are acceptable and proven effective in a class room environment. It is generally difficult to know the percentage of student understanding the subject that is covered in the class room. Question and answer approach is the best way to analyse the percentage or number of candidates who are actually understanding the teachings. The type of questions that come from the students will reveal the actual learning and the understanding of candidates. Also the presentation way and the resources used for the teaching is important. Reading books and issuing paper documents before the lecture is alright in many cases. However, to encourage students in listening more effectively, teachers should use computer tools like power point slides and digital projectors. Many organisations are now using the technology of animated learning contents which are considered as one of the best way to encourage learning. 2 Teaching approaches should be made more transparent which is easy to understand and is fully focused on the subject matter. Demonstrating teaching approach in the class room is a big responsibility for a teacher to put all the theoretical content into practice. As a teacher I am going to explain the above mentioned training plan in terms of teaching. I am going to use a mixed approach of teaching pattern. Considering the subject matter which is about health and safety, the content is extremely important for every student. The learning outcome of this teaching is to enhance the knowledge of students in health and safety aspects. As a teacher the basic skill set that is required for me to conduct this training is knowledge about health and safety, language skills, presentation skills, computer knowledge, listening skills and so on. I will be using two approaches in this training. First one is the lecture which is purely focused on health and safety. This approach will include demonstrations about health and safety in all places. Examples of health and safety situation like crossing a road safely, crossing rail ways, safety features while riding a bike and so on. These situations are real time and I believe students can easily understand it. There will be one or more video file from network rail about safety of rail network. These videos help the students to relax a bit in the class along with an effective way to convey the message. In every 15 minutes I will stop the lecture and ask some basic questions to the students. To avoid embracement to students, I will ask the question openly and whoever interested can answer the questions. Once the interactive sessions are over, I will divide the entire population into groups and allocate a common task. In this situation I will ask students to explain the steps involved in crossing the school road. The situation analysis will help groups to provide information about their understanding. I will then give feedbacks and will proceed to the next session. The resources that I am planning to use in this training are electronic presentation equipments, interactive white boards, papers and pen, projectors, digital media and books (Gravells, 2012). Before the start of the session I will try all the equipments one time including microphones to avoid frustration in the real time training. Also its my job to make sure the class room is booked for the whole one and half hour period and this will avoid interruptions in the middle. According to (Gravells, 2012) one should have a hard copy of the training available in hand as a backup so that in case of system failure this can be used. In the starting, I will make sure the whole one and half hour lecture is briefly explained so that students will know whats going to happen further. Also this will enable them to listen and generate questions well in advance. I will be using a power point presentation with links of the video files to show the video. Also I will make sure the video is enabled with sound as well. Sound actually changes the silence in the class room and creates a live environment. In the entire presentation I will make sure, all the candidates are listening to the lecture by providing good eye contacts with everyone. Eye contact is the best way to draw attention of students. Also before the lecture I will provide information about the assessment that will happen after the session or in between. This will also enable the students to engage in the learning process. To test the basic knowledge about health and safety I will ask questions related to the subject. Also I will not make any pre-assumption about the knowledge of students as a few answers dont mean everyone knows the subject very well. However, these open questions will increase the interaction with learners. In the group discussion phase, I will ask groups to work on the task and come up with answers. Also after the completion of the session I will conduct a Quiz for the teams and will ask to answer a set of questions which is related to the subject. The ultimate aim of all these activity is to make sure learning has taken place and everyone understood the subject matter.Communication in the middle of the lectures is vital to enable the interaction. Although it is a class room learning environment, I consider it as a place to learn from the students. Also I will seek the help of an assistant to watch the lecture and in case of doubts; I will ask them to note it for further references. I will try to make the environment more comfortable for everyone sitting in the class. Maximum effort will be given to explain each concept with real time examples; however, I will keep time constraint in mind. Feedback for the assessment is crucial as it will increase the motivation factor and student engagement factor. Also I will make sure best outcomes are appreciated in front of the class to increase the motivation. According to (Richards & Armstrong, 2010) good feedback can offer guidance and information; it is not a judgement of personality, character or potential. These feedbacks are only for that particular task at that particular moment. It is important to inform the candidates about this as pupil may think it as a negative way. Also this feedback should make the candidates over confident about the knowledge and skill level they acquire in the particular course. 3 Analysing own performance is one of the key area for teachers to understand about the lectures. I am planning to use two attributes to know about my performance. Firstly, I will seek the help of an expert or a colleague to monitor my lecture and include the positive and negative aspects of the lecture in the live lecture. Assistants can be used for noting my performance, however many researchers believe it is always better if someone who are thorough in the subject and the learning process can analyse the lecture in a better way. For easy in analysis of my performance I will provide table sheets and checklists to the assessor. The feedbacks can be formal and in-formal. As per (Gravells, 2012) one might think the session was successful on his/her on ways. But in reality there will be some form of errors or mistakes not just in the topic covered but also in the learning approach used. It is hence very much essential to provide a self-evaluation form and keeping the self-evaluation plan all time. Also I will be providing feedback form to the learners to get anonymous feedback about the lecture. There is good chance that I might get good information about my lecture from the learners. If the feedbacks are good, then I should re-think the approach used in that session so that I can use that for future training sessions. For self improvement I should always consider the fact that the lecture is a two way interaction area where there is a good chance for learning for myself and for the candidates. To improve my teaching skills I should give more importance on eye contact rather than always focusing on the slides. The slides which I prepare should contain only surface level informations, as students tend to read everything in the slide and listen nothing. Also I should inform the candidates that I will provide them the copy of the lecture so that pupils wont waste time in noting down the entire presentation cycle. Always I need to maintain a good language and avoid unnecessary sounds in the learning process. To further improve the teaching skills, I should allow students to work in smaller groups. For higher level candidates I should pave the way to increase their thinking capability and creative skills which is essential for them in real life works. If time permits I also need to allow students to engage in different activities. Bibliography

REFLECTIVE LEARNINGAnalysis of challenges that I faced in unit/taskThe challenge I faced in this unit is to explain the real time lecture. Ideally I thought doing a lecture is much easy but after doing this unit, I understand that it is a real challenge. Also aligning all the contents in a systematic way with informations about learners and teacher is a real challenge. How I dealt with this, and why I took this approachBefore writing this unit, I made scripted small documents with important attributes involved in the teaching learning process. These scripts helped me to pre-plan the inclusive learning approach. Also the use of academic books and internet sources provided ample amount of information about the subject. What went well and why?The informations provided in the session was realistic and achievable. The feedback informations given in the subject actually enabled me to understand the fact that teachers also make mistake and proper monitoring of teaching process is essential for improvement. What I need to do to improve and how I plan to do thisI should very carefully focus more on understanding the teaching approach and style before analysing the subject matter. Teaching approach actually is a lifelong learning for the teacher itself and hence it has much importance.
