MaterialAll single unistrut members are accurately and carefully rolled from mild steel. All multiple members are two or more single unistrut members spot welded on50mm to 75mm centres or tack welded.

Standard LengthsStandard lengths of the above channels are 6m. Facilities are available to cut toany special lengths for a small cutting charge.

    Finishes

Standard finish pre-galvanised, other finishes can be supplied, details on request.

NutsThe unistrut nuts are made from steel bar hardened after manufacture. Theends of the nuts are shaped so as to permit a quarter turn crosswise in theframing member after inserting through the slotted opening in the channel andprevents any futher turning of the nut.Two separate grooves in the top of the nutengage the inturned edges of the channel and after fixing operations arecompleted, will prevent any longitudinal movement of the screw and nut withinthe framing member. All screws and nuts have metric coarse screw threads.

Weights and DimensionsWeights given for all materials are approximate shipping weights. All dimensionsare subject to commercial tolerance variations.

    FittingsThe unistrut fittings, unless noted

otherwise, are punched press madefrom hot rolled, pickled and oiled steelplates or strip. The pickling of the steelproduces a smooth surface free fromscale.

P1000 channels and combinations arecold rolled from 2.5mm strip steel.Standard length 6m.

P1000V channels and combinations arecold rolled from 2.5mm strip steel.Standard length 6m.

P2000 channels and combinations arecold rolled from 1.5mm strip steel.Standard length 6m.

P4000 channels and combinations arecold rolled from 1.5mm strip steel.Standard length 6m.

P5000 channels and combinations arecold rolled from 2.5mm strip steel.Standard length 6m.

P3300 channels and combinations arecold rolled from 2.5mm strip steel.Standard length 6m.

Beam LoadsAllowable uniformally distributed loads are listed for varioussimple spans, that is, beam on two supports. If the load isconcentrated at centre of the span, mulitiply the load from thetable by 0.5 and corresponding deflection by 0.8.

Stress 175 N/mm - Recommended for use where deflection isnot a factor on long spans, guaranteed yield 280 N/mm.

Column LoadsColumn loadings are for allowable axial loads for the unsupportedheights listed. If loads are eccentric, they should be reducedaccording to the standard practice.

MaterialAll loading given are based on mild steel channels. P1000 andP3300 can also be supplied in 316 grade stainless steel.
